“Nice hotel for relaxing holiday”
Reviewed 17 August 2014 via mobile

This hotel is perfect if you want to relax and enjoy the sea. The access to the sea is really well done with terraces carved into volcanic rock (no sand). The pool (25m) is big enough to swim. The peolpe are friendly and polite. The breakfast is served in a room on the top floor with a wonderful view on the sea. Superior room with sea view are quite big and clean. An electric kettle would be a plus in order to make coffe or tea.

We stayed in 5 for a week and thoroughly enjoyed the pool and the see. The staff at breakfast was super friendly and the rooms were extra clean. The location is perfect to see Catania and the rest if the coast, close to mt. Etna, Taormina and Siracusa. A nice gym and a spa complete the great package

I stayed at Baia Verde many times in the past on business trip.

This time instead I was on vacation with family and I really appreciated a lot.
Family room was very wide.
Pool on the rocky shore is really nice and you can have also a swim in the sea itself.
Breakfast is outstanding on the sweets, average on fruit.
Price is adequate to the high quality.

Spent 5 days at the Baia Verde Hotel and had a great time. Staff were extremely helpful and hospitable. Sunbathing area is gorgeous with beautiful views. It was never really packed so you always found somewhere to sunbathe. Breakfast was good with lots of choice and great cappucinos!

Room Tip: Choose a room overlooking the garden as it is nice and peaceful with great views.

Stayed here overnight. Was looking for a beach hotel. First thing you have to understand about the Catania area of Sicily, there are very little if any beaches! It's all rocky shoreline. That being said, this hotel had a very nice pool, overlooking the ocean, high up on the cliffs edge. Here is a very nice walk way down to the water and several areas with deck chairs down by the water. The water was crisp clean and a good swim.
The hotel is a little run down but I believe it's likely one of the better hotels in the area. The food in the restaurant was excellent, but be prepared for hours that aren't prime for traveling Americans. Overall, it was a good quick stay as I really needed the pool and yes, the beach....such as it was.
The room had good air conditioning and the bed was suitable for a good night sleep.

The location and property at Baia Verde is The Best. Beautiful location on the water with endless views. Amenities and grounds were superb.
We checked in and all was well (or so we thought). At our room we noticed that the ac was not working. We contacted the front desk and told a maintenance man would be up to check it. He came and we were made aware of a notice at the lobby that some "amenities" at the hotel were not available due to recent thunder storms and repairs had to be made. You would think that the a/c in mid-June would not be considered an "amenity", but it was. Also, why was a maintenance man sent to let us know, instead of the front desk? Three days and no air-not good. Although everything else was excellent and 5 star, this really took it down a couple of notches. (All due to management misinformation.

Room Tip: Even in the lobby, in front of the reception desk, the wifi was terrible.

This hotel is located at the northern outskirts of Catania. There are roads with significant traffic right behind the hotel. It is essential not to get rooms facing the traffic. The hotel is quite old but has recently received a significant renovation. A few old parts still intact. (Like the old American Bar). All rooms are spacious, some with balconies. Be sure to specify the type of room and balcony you want. The hotel is located directly on the "beach". This beach is a rocky lava bay with sunbeads and a guard, but there is no sand in sight. Well organized stairs and ladders lead to the water. Beautiful 25m pool with plenty of sunbeads. Dive center on the premise (not PADI), but no spectacular dives in this vicinity. Breakfast is mediocre. Scrambled eggs was day after day almost like a thick soup. The bacon was cooked more than fried. Limited choice of other options compared to other four star hotels. Very limited lunch menu. Well organized and free parking. Helpful staff at reception. We were advised to drive five km north to a small fishing village to eat dinner. This was a success. We also drove up to the small village of Milo to watch the ongoing eruption from mount Etna.
