Description: Proprietors John & Lynn Bowen, Head Chef Rob Phillips & Second Chef's Liam Sampson & Chris Phare and all the staff wish you a very warm welcome to the Merry Harriers. We have tried to create a warm, welcoming, traditional Pub atmosphere. We think a Pub should be a Pub - not a restaurant. We pride ourselves on providing well kept Cask Ales, a good selection of quality, moderately priced wines and good home-made Pub Grub. We source our ingredients locally whenever possible. It not only tastes great, it helps to support our local community and to reduce food miles. Thanks to our

Lunch with friends on a cold January day always needs to deliver the goods and our experience yesterday at The Merry Harriers was very positive.

Friendly service and a large choice from the specials menu and the main menu gave us plenty to consider. Our starters were moules, soup and pheasant breasts and mains were seabass, steak and kidney pie and butternut squash and cashew nut curry ( which needed to be more spicy ). Puddings were Lovington icecreams and panacotta. With beers, wine and coffee the bill came to about £30 a head, extremely reasonable.

Popped in Saturday lunchtime. Pub was quiet and the staff gave us their full attention. Good selection of meals all cooked fresh to order. Prices are comparable with most pubs.
We tried the San Miguel battered fish & chips and the scampi with chips, both came with a small side salad. They were delicious, cooked to perfection. The 3 meals with drinks cost just under £35. We will visit again soon.

Booked a table in advance for 6:30 for four people, once arrived the table was layed out for just two people and was in the bar Area. The staff eventually took our orders.. At 19:45 with every one receiving their food, who had arrived after us, we went to enquire at the bar to where was ours? At 8pm it finally arrived after the very long wait. We found a small piece of metal in the burger we had ordered. After finishing off the meal as we were soo hungry we told the staff who said it must have happened when cleaning off the grill.

A early evening meal, my good lady said she had the best bugger ever in the UK, and coming from South Africa that's good. They even mad a small one for our 9yr old and she loved it as well.

My husband and I visited the pub at night and there were many people inside but we were welcomed and served very well. The food was absolutely delicious! We enjoyed the warm family atmosphere as well.
