.... shopping for me!
We were here for just two nights and three days and were very quickly impressed with the staff and very pleasantly surprised by the room.
There was a group of us from Walhampton Golf Course in Lymington and, by all accounts, the course at Padbrook Park was challenging but enjoyable.
Golf? Me? No thank you! Into Exeter I went on the bus with a couple of other ladies (£5.50 for a Day Rider ticket - my fellow shoppers had bus passes!!) and had a great day shopping and lunching followed by a little more shopping.
The bus stop is just a five minute walk from the hotel and is called, "Toad Hall" - how great is that?!
The Hotel staff really were very accommodating and every request was realised.
Mind you, we are a reasonable bunch so we weren't asking for anything too out there but we had a "Gluten Free" lady, a "Rocket Free" gentleman and I am Diabetic so you can probably guess at the kind of requests we were making.
The rooms were very spacious and the beds comfortable although a little on the hard side perhaps.
The flickering bathroom light was dealt with and fixed very quickly. Thankfully I was assured that it was the light and not my eyes - phew!
Not only did the staff have us to contend with but they were also coping with a few conferences and training courses taking place and still they managed to make you feel that you were the only guest they were dealing with - just brilliant.
Value - for us on a group booking it was very reasonable but I think that it might be a little on the expensive side for individual bookings.
