We have paid Luckenwalde and the amazing Flaeming-Skate numerous visits during recent years. Our first choice was and remains Vierseithof.
However, not because it is so great (it used to be!) but due to the lack of alternatives. Saying that this is the best choice in town also means that there are no real other options.
Vierseithof still has large rooms with comfortable beds and the typical four-star standard of a German country-side hotel. However, when we first came there they offered a fully-fledged wellness area including sauna AND pool. Since then (nine years ago) apparently no maintenance whatsoever took place around the sauna and the sundeck. The pool was closed down some two years ago and now serves as a storage area for worn out furniture.
Highlight, still, is the hotel’s restaurant, unarguably the best food in town.
So, we are regular guests, yes, but I wouldn’t say we are loyal. If something new should open in the neighborhood we’d give it a try.
Would have loved to tell this to the management but upon check-out they didn’t even bother to ask if we’d enjoyed our stay. Adds to the overall impression that they don’t care.
