Only stayed one night but would happily have stayed longer! Yes there is still some scaffolding outside at the rear but don't let this detract you. The inside has obviously gone through a recent refurb and to great effect. We were lucky to have stayed in the Montpellier suite and it was pure luxury with separate seating area, super king size bed, separate bath and shower and usual hotel room facilities (flat screen freeview tv + brew making kit). Room service on offer for a small additional charge but the dining and bar area were more than comfortable to not bother staying in the room. The bar is available throughout the night and the bar staff on our night were exceptionally friendly and helpful. Most notable was Kate and Sarah who were more than happy to chat rather than just serve and move on, and Johnnathan who made the night enjoyable with his friendly approach, witty banter and nothing is a problem attitude.

Breakfast is a buffet/help yourself affair but was lovely nonetheless, and the morning staff happy to cater for items not available (partial to a poached egg), in addition there is also continental style available if you're not up to a traditional fry up. Overall, we were very happy with our stay and will certainly stay again when we are next in the area. Well done The Regency.

Arrived late evening in the poring rain to the rear of the hotel to be told by the receptionist via the intercom that I would have to walk to the front of the hotel as he was the only member of staff on and he was covering reception and the bar so was unable to open the rear entrance.

Also booked double room, ended up being given a twin and T.V in room was broken.

This hotel is fine for a stop over, but at times you will need a blindfold! The bed is very comfortable, although I wish hotels would learn that a 13.5 tog value duvet is not necessary in the summer! The rooms are quiet and quite clean. On arrival we had to wait for quite a time before a receptionist arrived at the desk. The welcome was non existent and the checking in process was purely mechanical. Breakfast was alright. The cooked food had been sitting under intense heating lamps and some of it was overly greasy and other items dried out! The dining room could benefit from a deep clean, it certainly was not of a standard that I would expect and put us off from having our evening meals there. Would I stay there again, only if there was no where else available.

Room was great, bed were amazing! The majority of staff were very friendly. Restaurant and bar was very expensive. Damp/mould on grout and ceiling of the bathroom. Scaffolding was outside our window with builders smoking outside.

We stayed for 5 nights on bed and breakfast, not having stayed here before. The room was quiet, air conditioned, spotlessly clean and appeared to have been renovated recently. The breakfast was very good, with plenty of choice for cereals and hot food (help yourself). We had one evening meal and the food was excellent. The staff on reception were excellent, being friendly, professional and helpful in providing all information requested (ranging from location of restaurant and car parks in Cheltenham, to bus times to both Cheltenham and Gloucester). We would definitely recommend this hotel.

We stayed here for 2 nights, the staff were very pleasant and friendly. We had a suite which was clean, airconditioned and had lots of space. The bathroom was great with a separate bath and large shower. The breakfast was great, with fresh brewed coffee. All in all a great stay, if you read my previous post you would know that we ended up here due to another hotel forgetting to accept our booking of their system (over 7 months ago).
We were very lucky as the Best Western was far better, we went to a wedding in the other hotel.
The wedding was at the Hatherley Manor, I viewed a room there. Very tired marks on the walls, very small rooms no aircon, no elevator. Staff not very welcoming, the venue was holding at least 2 weddings. Most of the day 1 person in the bar, sometimes none. Poor service at the Manor but not at Best Western Regency. I think that Manor needs a new Lord or Lady.

Room Tip: Go for a suite.

I would recommend this Hotel, the rooms are air conditioned, the staff are friendly and the food is great, also a well stocked bar !!!! the hotel is situated on a main road but this does not detract from a good nights sleep, the rooms have flat screen tv's and good coverage of free wifi. Breakfast is a self service bar however the staff are willing to accommodate any special requests. again highly recommended
