When you're paying the amount that Bohol beach club charges and you get a room with dull interiors and a damp smell, you are bound to be disappointed.
Also, though it has a beachfront it is quite far from alona beach ( for nightlife, restaurants).
We ended up walking down the beach to some of the beach shacks for breakfast, lunch and dinner every day!
Also, while the beach has white sand, when you step into the water, you're on reef.
We had heard great reviews of BBC before we went there and we're probably disappointed because our expectations were so high!

My family and I stayed here back in January '07. Unfortunately, we caught the tail end of the rainy season...basically rained during our stay, 3 days/nights. It's a beautiful resort with a white sand beach. While in Boracay previously, a couple had warned us not to go in the water because their son had been stung by jellyfish...apparently it was mating season in the area. The staff were very friendly and the food was ok. If you're looking for seclusion, check this resort out...it's nice and quiet.

I had a short visit in Bohol. Anyone I ask... the top choice for a resort is this one. Bohol Beach Club is situated on a very private location with spacious area, nice villa, good food and relaxing shore.

My wife and I want to see the famous chocolate hills so got a booking and scouted for a hotel or resort to stay. We decided to go to Bohol Beach Club. For a first timer like us, we did not expect that the resort was so far and very secluded. We don't mind but for others who wants to do other activities, this is not a place to be recommended. The resort was huge. Clean beach and a lot of space to walk. The room we stayed was not so terrific though. It was i think the old part of the resort. One good thing was that it was quiet and peaceful. No disturbance at all. Staff at the restaurant were nice and cheerful. Food was not that great. It was just the average. No fancy presentation. Buffet breakfast was ok, you can order freshly cooked eggs of your choice. Our stay was relaxing. Away from the noise and polluted streets of the city. A very nice getaway....

This place is really nice, in my opinion between 3 an 4 stars. The reason i "only" give et 3, is, that at the time we were there (january 2013), half the resort was closet, because of renovation, and as far as I was told, I think the other part (the one that is still open) is actually sold, and somehow it kind of showed on the enthusiasm. When this is said, the resort almost deserves an applaus for its beach - it is amazing!!! You can swim, snorkel and dive just off shore. It is sandy (with some sea-grass - watch for sea-urchins!!!) the first 50 - 100 meters, then there is soft and hard coral, and loads of life just under the surface!!!
The resort is a bit isolated, and you need to have a car or tri-cycle to get to Alona, but that instead means that it is quiet and relaxed. The rooms are a bit out-dated, but it has what is needed, and it works.
All in all, a god, nice beach, quiet and relaxet place, that I will recommend.

On the plus side, the beach here is fantastic. White sands, warm waters for swimming and snorkeling, and incredible sunsets. The location is perfect for a quiet and secluded getaway. There is a restaurant onsite with decent (not great) food but if you want to go somewhere else (anywhere else) you'll need to call a taxi. Nothing is within 20 minutes of the hotel so advance planning will be required. On the negative side, the service is lackluster and sometimes surly. Don't expect much assistance from the staff beyond meals and carrying bags. Also, while the rooms are clean and comfortable, the property is dated and needs a complete renovation. There are indications that renovations may be underway but in the meantime it's a throwback to 1980's decor. I might stay here again because of the beach but otherwise I'd look elsewhere.

Room Tip: beachfront cottages are worth the cost
