“Charming and healthy!”
Reviewed 7 November 2013 via mobile

We arrived in Bohol Bee Farm just 2 days after the earthquake that struck the region. We were upgraded to a bigger room since almost all of their bookings have been cancelled. The Loboc room was big and clean, with a spacious shower area and a separate toilet. Our room had its own veranda facing the 4 jacuzzi pools. Walking around the Bee Farm may be quite difficult for older guests, since there are slopes going to the restaurant area. There is no beach, since it is situated on a cliff. They have a deck down the cliff where you can go down for a dip on a sandy area in the sea. The view from the restaurants are spectacular.

One thing about Bohol Bee Farm that anyone would agree on would be their good food. Everything is organic, quite rustic and unique. Their halo-halo is to die for, and you just have to try the different flavored ice cream. They have tomato, guyabano, mango, ginger, etc. Very unique and interesting! I loved their spicy flower salad. I didn't know bougainvilla flowers are edible, until they served it with the salad! All dishes are served with organic salad on the side and a good serving of brown rice, unless you ask for white rice. Their squash bread with mango butter is good too!

I love the idea of the resort being self-sustaining. They use herbs and vegetables as ornamental plants too. Our room had alugbati vines on the trellises by the balcony. And the frontage was filled with celery, basil, rosemary and tarragon. The bees are situated in an area not too close to the rooms to avoid bees bothering people. They have a small ice cream shop and a souvenir shop up front. Staff are friendly and courteous too.

Stayed a few days this Oct and I found this place charming. They upgraded us to one of the newer accomodations with the ocean view. I stay at 5 star hotels and such but I'm not closeminded either. They grow a lot of what they use at this place. My fiance said it smelled like cow dung (Baby, it's manure for fertilizer duh!) and yes there were ants but they didn't bother us at all, what polite little ants haha! It's a working farm for crying out loud! I loved everything about it. Homemade ice cream with odd flavors (malunggay, tomato, ginger!). Locavore healthy type eating which was not bad at all (surprisingly enjoyed the red rice). Loved their store, stocked up on goodies to give. Enjoyed the complimentary tour of the farm they give if you're a guest. If not, there's a small fee. Staff was friendly and warm. The place is a must visit while in Bohol. Sadly only a box (a colony) of bees! Come to find out they outsource their honey (aha!) outside but then again do you really want a lot of bees buzzing around while you relax. The room was huge. Stayed at the Dauis suite, native in design and more than comfortable. TV reception was awesome, lots of cable channels. Bathroom and shower was great. My only boohoo was the wifi which you could only get around the reception area but I did like having to walk around and check out my surroundings from time to time. And it was near the ice cream store so hey, why not? At the end, the hunny even grew to love this place. I hope they're ok after the recent earthquake. We were lucky enough to leave 3 days before it happened. Cheers and well wishes to lovely Bohol and the bee farm.

Room Tip: Ocean view suites are lovely especially during sunset. Eat breakfast at their buffet, the view of th...

Our hotel service was on time and we had the van to ourselves, which is always nice. The room was clean and spacious. But there were ants on the balcony. Our balcony and bathroom has a sweeping view of the ocean.

We enjoyed the spa. There was not a lot of visitors roaming around that area.

The food was mostly honey based. It was ok for the first few meals but on the third day I was over it. I loved the spreads and bought heaps before we left.

The massage area was perfect. I only wished the masseuse did some deep tissue massage.

The location was far from everything. But I enjoy the seclusion.....I only wishedbthere was bees.

If you're looking for a place to clear your mind from all the stress of everyday living, or just relax after some days of touring, come here. This place is very calming and is quite romantic too. The ocean lounge area is a good place to just lay there and enjoy the view of the sea, the wind and sun. Play your favorite sounds and a bottle of beer and you're good to go.

It's also a place where you can enjoy all things organic. From the food that they serve, to the room decors and probably even the bath soaps. You should try the seafood pasta, it's really good! Food price is bordering expensive but it's worth the experience. Where else can you find violet flowers mixed in with your fried rice or bougainvillea in your salad which, by the way, are all grown in their gardens? They also have unusually flavored ice cream like ginger and tomato.

The staff are courteous and nice. Some of the guys went to get sea urchins one afternoon and came back with baskets full of them. Then they'd crack them open and ate the raw meat with a little vinegar and rice. When I went over to see, out of curiosity, what they were eating, one of them offered me to try it. That was the first time I ever tasted sea urchin, and a raw one at that! An experience I will never forget.

The only downside for me is they don't have a sandy seashore where you can take a stroll and enjoy the waves. I don't even recommend taking a dip because it's all sea grass, starfish and sea urchins.

Excellent food, unique tastes, healthy and organic; buffet breakfast. The room is very spacious and affordable. we had a free upgrade to a large room. A good place to retire after a long day of sightseeing. Perfect place for relaxation and personal retreat. Staff are very helpful and friendly. Farm tour is free. They also provide airport transfer. you can rent a car and driver to take you anywhere you want. clean and clear ocean water. at night look towards the ocean and watch the bats fly around. Best halo halo ever!

I can only review the food and the ambience as I haven't stayed over here.

This was introduced by my old friends in my visit to Panglao, Bohol.

Because organic food is still very new in the Philippines so this place is making news.

Apparently they serve organic food from their garden. The freshly made squasb bread was tasty, not the typical Filipino bread that is sweet! Serving was generous and good as well as the service.

Location wise shall I shalll is romantic as it sets on the cliff so one could assume that if you dine here at sunset then you will a perfect view of the sunset and the sea.

The price is not very local friendly though. It is quite expensive and even if you're a backpacker you can't be eating herw everyday! This place is just good for a treat! The Philippines is blessed with fertile soil so one can easily grow their own organic vege / fruits and one can eat healthy organic food.

The Bohol Bee farm is a good place for relax. The farm is very nature with many geckos and ants. The Sun Bathing and Lounging Area is very very beautiful. You can stretched out on a lounge chair there to relax in the daytime, and watching the stars in the evening.
It's not convenient for guests go outside except the airport and ferry. The hotel provide free pick up and send off service to the airport and ferry (sent off service has schedule). But charge 700P round way to Alona. From alona, we hired a tricycle to bee farm, which cost 200P one way. We also tried motocycle it cost 100P one way for two person. And the hotel charge 150P handling charge per time to book the boat tickets. Even the reception told us the wrong schedule for the boat from TAG to DGT. They charge 2500P for the boat rent while in alona, it's only cost below 1500P. The one day trips they provie are very very expensive.
The staff there obviously not been well trained. They were laughing and joking with each other when you asking them questions or ordering.
We stay in the honeycomb 1 room. The first day, we do not have hot shower. But we are too tired to argue with the front desk. The second day, we complained about the shower, and one staff went to our room to check. She found that they forgot to open the hot water switch, which located in the restaurant downstairs......
The hotel is not so quiet for a lot of travellers come to bee farm for visit in the daytime and local students also like to go to bee farm outing. They made a lot of nosie, especially the students. Unfortunately, we did't have good neighbors. Several students stay in honeycomb 2, and made a lot of noise in the mid night. They just jumping and laughing loudly in the room even in the mid night. I felt my room was shaking....
