“Bohol Plaza on the other side”
Reviewed 1 October 2012

If your travelling to Bohol Philippines for either business or pleasure, I suggest staying on the other side of bohol. Normally, Bohol is famous for it's beach front properties, but if you want to have a different perspective, then I would highly recommend Bohol Plaza. It's around a 15 minutes drive from the Bohol Fast Ferry Terminal and is situated on a hillside. The best thing about bohol plaza is the view. The stunning sunrise view you get is something quite fascinating. To top that up, the 180 degree birds eye view of the islands of Bohol is just amazing. (see photos attached). However, if your travelling senior and would not enjoy stairs and elevators, then this place is not for you. The structure in itself is quite good, with good food, and excellent customer service.

Room Tip: get the ocean view room, and try to arrange pick up service since hotel location is a little far fro...

Our holiday was good in Bohol Plaza. There are lots of personel (waiters etc.)and most of them are men specially in house keeping i perfer women in cleaning rooms than men and most of the waiters just stare ang look at the guests who are eating and doing nothing (sorry but i am not against these people) but there are too many people being paid doing nothing. The place is great clean food is very delicious.Hotel needs a refreshing painting and renovation to keep its standard and value.

Stayed here for the second time as a weekend escape from Manila. One thing that keeps amazing me is the breathtaking views over Bohol island. So far the good news.

The annoyences from the first visit remain. You call to make a reservation and they have only the most expensive ambassador cottages available. My gf, who is a local, calls and they have all the rooms she wants available. Yes , the ambassadar cottage has the greatest views, but if you want to go cheaper as a foreigner be advised (Would be nice to hear from other foreign reservations bout this issue).

The cottages itself are absolutely below standard for this day and age. If you are staying in the most expensive ambassador suite you get the exact same configuration as the cheaper cottages, only you are a level higher located. The standard rooms (the cheapest rooms) are very small, old fashioned and smelly.

Another big minus is transportation. There are no motorbike or other rentals (as opposed to the neighboring resorts) available, which makes one has to go rent in the city every time.

The plus side is they have a nice pool with jacuzzi's and in the evenings in the weekends if you get lucky a nice live band. The band stops playing at 11pm. If you have one of the surrounding cottages that could be a problem.

Another nice thing is you can enjoy the breakfast with the greatest views surroundung you.

Room service comes at a 10% surcharge, and the food is slightly overpriced for what's it worth.

This could be an absolutely great place but ...

Last 2011, we had a field trip on our tourism subject and accommodation is one of the inclusions. We stayed at Bohol Plaza Hotel and we are all happy to see that the place was located at the top of the hill. Perfect view esp. when you want to be away for the monotony of your usual chore. The best place to relax. You'll enjoy the fresh air and the cold breeze during night time. The room was perfect since we came as a group. We were booked for Family room and each room can accommodate 12 pax. Furnished with facilities and amenities which we commonly used. Only breakfast not included so we have to pay separately for that. The buffet was good and its spacious enough to cater large number of guest. You'll also enjoy the view from there.

And during our last night we have this "white Party" beside the pool. The view was perfect during night time because of the lights and all, the effects added beauty to the ambiance. That night was really stunning and we all had fun. The Party ended so well.

We stayed at Bohol Plaza Resort when we had our tour in Bohol. The hotel is at the top of the hill. It has such a perfect view. If you're a nature lover, you'd definitely like to stay here. I really like the cool breeze during the entire day. And oh, we enjoyed their jacuzzi and swimming pool. I also love their buffet breakfast. Delicious and has a variety of choices! The staff are accommodating. Love this palce.

Perfect view of the Island from its rooftop. I like the wide swimming pool and Jacuzzi, their small bar is perfect for relaxing and for couples. Resort staff are accommodating and quickly attends to your needs.
Highly recommended for a barkada (group) or a family with a tight budget but want to get and experience the best in nature resort.

We have stayed here last May 13, 2012 and we celebrated the Mother's day with my sisters and other friends. My Mom mentioned this place as it was being referred by one of her friends. Anyway, we did not mention to her that we already booked because it was a surprise one. When we get there, She was really amazed. We knew she liked the view. The kids enjoyed the pool as well.It is only 2 feet and kids were really happy (the fact was they stayed like 3 hours, non-stop swimming). My nephew was already shaking but never left til 6:00PM. My mother knows the best even in picking a hotel for a family. We've got two rooms and they were fine. We do not expect nice, perfect rooms as we are only staying for a night.

We ate our dinner in their restaurant. The waiter was very attentive and very busy putting chairs and tables in the pool side. He did a fantastic job and am sure, he was exhausted after an hours of serving us(deserved a bigger tip). I could have been giving him a compliment here but I forgot his name.He works so hard. It was a nice dinner in the pool side, food was okay but did not like their bam-e menu. We liked the sweet and sour Lapu-Lapu though( too bad they don't have the large size).

All in all, the staff were very helpful, from phone calls and e-mails, trying to do a reservation and making payment upon arrival, we do not have problems with them. The Receptionists were smiling. The waiters were friendly.

We gave our mother a hug and told her that we have been very grateful for everything.

Thanks to all and Belated Happy Mother's day to all the Mothers working in this resort!

To my Mama, We will come back here again.

Room Tip: Get the DELUXE ROOM type.It has better view from the top.
