Taormina is a wonderful place to visit. But Taormina is a busy, bustling, bundle of noise and movement that needs reserves of energy and endurance. A three minute ride on the funicular brings you down to the sea and beaches of Mazzarro and Isola Bella. A two minute walk brings you to the front gate and terraces of Casa Taormina. The ascent to the front door is not for the frail. (You might wish that a mini funicular had been installed). But it is the imperious location that provides sumptuous sea and shoreline views from every balcony and every room of the apartment.
The apartment itself is of good quality offering excellent amenities and accommodation. (We were two couples) The design is modern. The furnishing, textiles are chic. However, the outsized kitchen station that houses all the white goods may look impressive, but is impractical. The provision of " house"toiletries would have been appreciated.
We enjoyed our stay. Apart from a glitch with the water supply which the staff of Emma Villas and Francesca, the local rep, worked quickly and successfully to put right, the rental was flawless. Thanks also to Francesca for organising a parking place for us. In such a busy place, this was a real plus.
Villa was as described and shown in pics. Location was great, easy walk to the tram and great restaurants. Only downside if it is one- is the hike up to the Villa with bags is quite a trek up several flights of stairs, but that's why the views are amazing!
