This is a very nice, upscale country hotel - with excellent staff, superb bedrooms, and an excellent chef. It was really welcoming, in a wonderful setting. The many public rooms are comfortable, well appointed and decorated in a modern style that belies the many antiques dotted about. The room was lovely, in the modern wing, but really first class.
Food in the brasserie is modern, inventive and buzzing. The restaurant deserves its star and is rightly looking for a second. The tasting menu was overall very good - with some world class dishes.
It's pricey, but you get what you pay for. The only thing that was over priced were drinks at the bar, but the wine menu was fine.
The spa is actually quite nice, contrary to some of the negative reviews.
Staff are very friendy and helpful.More
