Room, location, food and leisure facilities were first class. The daytime activities were very good with a number of external speakers providing interesting events. However we feel that the evening entertainment needs a rethink.
Warner appear to believe that their ‘mature’ guests must have Bingo EVERY evening, must have an inane audience participation game EVERY evening and also must have several dancing sessions EVERY evening. All this is followed at about 10.00 pm with a very good show from the Entertainment team. What guests actually want is good quality entertainment in addition to the show, and Warner do provide this but at the wrong time. Each evening there was a cabaret style performance by a member of the Entertainment team between 6.00 pm and 7.00 pm which was very good, but generally had an audience of about 10 as guests were having dinner. Similarly there were late evening performances by a Country and Western singer etc which could not start until the show had finished, ie approaching 11.00 pm, when most people were on the way to bed.
As an experiment why not have the current dinner and late evening cabarets between 7.00pm and 9.00 pm, with the show at 9.00 pm, which could followed by dancing. The small number of guests who took part in the bingo could easily be accommodated in another room if necessary.

Stayed here for 4 nights midweek in a signature room. Cannot fault the room, comfy beds, duvet, large ensuite shower, DVD player, dab radio, adequate chairs ( some many hotels have only one chair in a double room-this had three)and well lit. Food was excellent and well presented. We used the on site pool, gym and spa and all were fine. Staff couldn't do enough for us. On a wet day we didn't stray far and didn't need to as there was enough on site to keep use amused.
This hotel is in a fabulous position overlooking the approaches to Portsmouth harbour and so there is a constant parade of shipping to watch, and the beach is literally a few steps from the door.
I find the comments some put on here about the age of Warners clientele offensive. I am a mobile relatively fit 67 year old and these hotels are great, offering good food and accommodation and entertainment and activities tailored to my age group. This is my 3rd visit to one and though the branding is the same they are all subtly different.

Thank you so much for such a wonderful positive review. As you say we are blessed with such a fantastic location and do our very best to offer quality service to fit our surroundings. It would appear that the Warner concept fits in perfectly with what you are looking for and that's just great.
Keep enjoying life and we look forward to welcoming you back to enjoy another Warner break soon. Kind Regards Phil

I stayed in one of the seaview rooms on the second floor, the view was spectacular, overlooking the Solent watching the cruiseliners sailing out was lovely. Our table in the restraunt was described as one of the best in the room and we had to agree, nicely positioned in a window bay with no one walking past. The food at Warners as always is more than passible considering the amount of people they have to cater for. We ate off the menu and also the buffet and found the food to be hot and tasty. Our waiter was very good and gave us some great tips for walks and our day at Osbourne House.
I've stayed in a few Warners hotels and always found the entertainment teams to be friendly and professional, (except for one team manager a while back), this team were exceptional, every singer could sing and the dancers could dance, Holly does a great job and little Hanna has a voice that can knock your socks off.
The Quo band were OK, one singer (Ricks tribute) obviously had a sore throat but soldiered on, (Francis) had to fill in from time to time but the guitar playing was brilliant. The resident band are fantastic at getting everyone in the party mood, the lead singer also has a great voice.
All in all ourselves and our friends had a great experience, the weather certainly helps, we even managed to get put on an earlier ferry when we turned up for the return trip to the mainland. Result.

Room Tip: Pay more for a premium room for the view.

Great for a preview of what it would be like in a residential old peoples home. It has all the ingredients, high costs, mass catering, foreign staff and happy clappy entertainment. If you are, or consider yourself under retirement age definitely not for you. Same group as Butlins but whereas Butlins has recently improved Warners has deteriorated. Needs a fresh management approach.

We had a really nice weekend away. The hotel was comfortable and entertainment really good apart from the ABBA tribute act which sadly lacked alot. Food was really good and service at the table quick and efficient. We loved the Isle of Wight so much to do we need to go back to explore some more.

Thank you for taking the time to review your recent stay and I am delighted you had a really good time and particularly enjoyed the food and service. With so much to see and do on the Island you could visit for many years and still not see it all. We do look forward to welcoming you back in the not too distant future. Regards Phil
