“Must see.”
Reviewed 5 April 2014

No visit to the island should be done without a visit to this historic location. Restoration has been carried out superbly and the windmill stands at a marvellous place with a panoramic view - you can see for miles.

“Much more interesting than I expected”
Reviewed 30 March 2014

We only came here because it was raining. I wasn't expecting much but in fact it was fascinating. We had a guided tour from a volunteer who told us lots of detail. There is also a DVD running (of a BBC programme about this windmill) and there are audio recordings you can listen to on each floor. It left me wanting to know lots more about the history and development of windmills - started Googling as soon as we got home!
Parking is in the layby on the main road, so I can imagine it would be very limited in the height of the holiday season. The mill itself is small and would not hold many visitors at once. It is laid out on 4 floors and the stairs, as others have said, are extremely steep, more like ladders, so not for anyone with mobility problems. It is not somewhere you would want to spend a very long time - perhaps an hour - so may be more appropriate for those who are NT members as it would be very expensive for a whole family (£3.50 per adult). The views are great, and the volunteers were all very friendly.

“Interesting!”
Reviewed 20 March 2014 via mobile

We had a great time at Bembridge Windmill, it is a NT atraction and there is limited parking but stil worth going and visiting.

It was a first time in the windmill and we enjoyed learning how the flour is made and to see the interior of the windmill.

“Buy the Flour”
Reviewed 27 February 2014

This Windmill is in a lovely village and it is a popular attraction. It is well worth a visit. They sell the flour that is ground there .Its not cheap but it makes good bread. These type of attractions are what makes the Isle of Wight such a beautiful place.Long may it stay like it is.

“Hidden Gem”
Reviewed 8 December 2013

Bembridge Windmill is tucked in the corner of the island. A lot of care has obviously gone into the restoration and there was interactive guides to the working, along with volunteers or a self guided "tour".

Think it pays to be a National Trust member as would have been quite expensive for the small size. Still worth it though.

There was lots on display, but disappointed couldn't see any views from the top (maybe as I'm short stuff?!) Could see from further down though.
