“Great family visit”
Reviewed 11 June 2014

Visited the mill with my family, surprised at how interesting it was and my kids loved the children's butterfly trails. A lovely way to spend an hour or so, good in all weather since most of it is indoors but there's ice cream and a picnic area for sunny days. The lady in the kiosk was very friendly and helpful with advising us on places to visit/eat nearby (as this was our first holiday in the Isle of Wight!). An enjoyable visit for all the family.

“The only mill”
Reviewed 11 June 2014

National Trust property otherwise £ 3.90, with a very small shop. However very friendly and knowledgeable staff, more than willing to talk about all things Windmills.

Inside the stone mill are three floors which involve some very careful climbing and watching your head. As it's the only mill on the island, it's probably worth visiting at least once, but it's nothing special. Parking is roadside only, but it's well signposted.

“An interesting visit to the Windmill”
Reviewed 4 June 2014

Enjoyed a short visit to this windmill. It is a National Trust property and is free to NT members. Normal entry is £ 4.30 for adults and £ 2.15 for children. There is a small shop within the payment office and it is possible to have a coffee too. The staff are friendly and keen to explain about the mill. It is not a working mill now but you can still see the original machinery. If you want to go inside the windmill be aware that the wooden steps are steep but are manageable.

There is a video which explains how the whole structure worked and there are models and artefacts around. It was informative.

You access the mill from the main road and there is a short walk along a gravel path to reach it. You can take pictures inside and out. There are good views across the countryside when you reach the top floor.

A pleasant and interesting visit.

“A pleasant hour or two, nice views.”
Reviewed 19 May 2014

As a National Trust attraction, it is not the cheapest thing to do but it's very interesting and a pleasant place to visit. You go up to the top and can see out across the countryside which is lovely and you can see the planes land at the small airport nearby. There is a video to tell you all about how the mill worked and some activity for the children to keep them amused.
