Great overview of the work and history of the RNLI at this lifeboat station. Staff very helpful . Pay and display car park next to the RNLI shop.

We are delighted that you found your recent visit to Bembridge Lifeboat Station to see our Tamar Class All-Weather Lifeboat (RNLB Alfred Albert Williams) so worthwhile. Thank you very much for your support to the RNLI and for recommending us to others by giving us an "excellent" review. Our crew and guild members, and in particular our volunteer "Visits" guides & those serving in the "Shop" are extremely proud of the fact that most visitors kindly do give us 5 out of 5!

For anyone reading this response, the daily opening times of our Shop & the Offshore Boathouse are (until the end of October) 11am to 4pm. There is a lift for those who can't manage the steps to reach the viewing gallery & we also have a wheel chair (ask in the shop) for those who think the walkway to Offshore Boathouse may be a bit too far for them.

For those staying at the Bembridge Coast Hotel, there is normally a weekly talk on the RNLI on Tuesday afternoons at 4.30pm in the bar area and conducted tours of the Lifeboat Station on Thursdays and Saturdays at 13:30. You will find details in Reception.

Details of how to keep in touch with us, information on our operational "shouts" and when we are planning on launching for training can be found on our local Bembridge Lifeboat website. Please note that we do NOT always launch on a Tuesday evening for training.

Finally, please don't forget to always "Respect the Water". If you find yourself unexpectedly in cold water, fight your instinct to swim and just float for the first three quarters of a minute. For more information please visit the RNLI "Respect the Water" website.

We took a coastal walk along to the Lifeboat station and to have a look across the sea. It was a wonderful evening, we were going to have a walk up the pier to the station unfortunately the guys and gals got a shout and had to go to sea. So we decided not to get in their way and let them have full use of the pier to run up. It was a fantastic site to see the boat launch though, lets hope whoever they had to help was OK.
Unfortunately the shop was not open so could not purchase anything, but did buy from the Yarmouth port shop.
Keep up the fantastic work.

Great place to visit, steeped in history both local and national. Fantastic seeing the lifeboats up close. A valuable service which needs our support as we never know when we may need help upon the water.

This was one of the highlights of our 2 day stay on IOW. The place was immaculate and the lovely gentleman that greeted us as we wondered in was just fab! Full of knowledge and interesting facts, not a single question asked was too small, big or silly! I could’ve stood there all day and spoken to him! Definitely worth a visit for such a worthy cause!
