“A lovely scenic site”

Just back from a week's holiday. Like others who have written reviews, the Entertainments Team were great, especially Scott who is a great male vocalist. Enjoyed evenings in both the Nab Bar, which is a quiet lounge and the more family orientated Culver Club. The outdoor pool is lovely and the private beach is an added bonus but you do need to be fairly fit to tackle the steep slope. Enjoyed some of the daily activities too, like archery and pottery painting. Would have done more but weather not great. Although raining, still warm and seemed to brighten up late afternoon/early evening with fantastic views from the top of the hill and gorgeous sun sets.

We stayed in a superior chalet which was basic but again like others, couldn't fault it. Everything was spotless and it had everything you need for a self catering holiday. All staff very friendly and helpful.

We had a lovely week in 2010 in the bell tents in the canvas village. Unfortunately on this occasion there was no one to let us into our accommodation when we arrived. Apparently they had thought everyone had already arrived and despite the their team booking our ferry for 5pm they had all gone home when we arrived on site at 630. Fortunately an extremely helpful bouncer from the nightclub over the road gave us a key for a crumbling chalet for the night. The following day we got the key to our tent to find the complementary cooked breakfast ingredients were in a fridge that was not plugged in. We returned the items but did not receive replacements. The reception staff were very apologetic but with the addition of a broken kettle the trip did not get off to a good start. The tents are lovely and are fitted out really well. Unfortunately the holiday was spoiled by a badly repaired futon where one of the wooden slats popped out every time we sat down and a lack of attention to the paths that had clearly been sodden and waterlogged for weeks. Overall the site could be lovely with a little more attention. Several other couple discussed how the site had gone down hill since previous years. I think we would have felt better had the company refunded us for the first nights stay and replaced our breakfast. By the end of the week we just wanted to get home and away from the mud so couldn't be bothered to argue.

Spent a week here in May of this year and had a brilliant time. All the staff were very friendly , the children's entertainers were brilliant they really took the time to get to know our children and make them feel welcome. The accommodation we stayed in was a brick chalet. I can can not fault it. It was warm, clean, tastefully decorated, with everything you could need for a holiday. The only negative point I can make is with the indoor pool. It is quite small and a little out dated, it gets crowed very quickly. The steps to the waterslide are a little dangerous as they get very slippy my six year old son fell down them and cut this face. However the staff at the pool were very good and he was treated very quickly . My family and I were so impressed with this resort we are planning another visit soon.

We stayed during the very bad weather at the beginning of June. The 60mph wind and lashing rain bad weather. It would have been nice if they had put up "severe weather" warning signs. It would have been nice if their staff had done something to help campers trying to rescue tents which were being destroyed by gale force winds. It would have been nice if they'd answered their "emergency number".
But that's not their style.
I sent them an email, outlining why I felt their customer care was somewhat less than I would desire and got two identical condescending, insulting, unapologetic emails in response.
These people do not care about the families camping with them.
We will never go back.
If you've never been, just don't.

Room Tip: Don't go here.

Just got back from a weeks holiday in our touring van. The camping field is very unlevel and pitches not marked out. The toilets on arrival were filthy, mud all over the floor. It says in the brochure the toilets are modern, apart from being white that was the only modern thing about them!! The toilet block was cleaned but not to a high standard, never took my flip flops off in the shower.
The site facilities are ok, indoor pool was nice but closed for lunch and then closed at 5pm which is much to early for people wanting a swim after being out for the day. The outdoor pool looked nice but we didn't use it. The bar and club were all nice and childrens entertainment was good. The softplay is very small and closes the same time as the pool. The childrens park is ok but not really suitable for smaller children, just basically a slide and bridge, no swings or anything else. The crazy golf is very basic. The shop is well stocked but some of the staff are a little rude. The entertainment staff are very friendly and welcoming, they work very hard.
The views are wonderful and the beach is lovely but down a very steep slop.
All in all the site is ok for a base but it all needs updating and a little money spent.
I'm sorry to say we wont be returning.

We have returned again this year after being impressed last year. This is the first time we have ever returned to the same place. We stayed in a comfort chalet it was clean comfortable and what we expected. The kitchen utensils are basic but we do not go on holiday to cook. I was wary again after reading reviews so took bacterial wipes to clean everywhere. I can honestly say everything was spotless, you could smell the cleaning solutions when we walked in.
Every morning a man walks around picking up litter, the grass is cut every couple of days. Every where is kept looking nice and the staff try so hard. They are all helpful friendly and go out of there way from cleaning staff bar staff customers services and the entertainment team.
We booked half board for 7 nights of our stay having it alternate over the two weeks..My partner is a very fussy eater but everything was cooked how he asked for it. There was only the fish he did not like. The food is good and plentiful.
We watched the England last game whilst there and the entertainment team went full out almost like being at a game, even half price beer ! only England let us down but we expected that.
I could go on about the positives. We have booked again for next year because there is no better place to holiday with dogs

We've just got back from our 3rd trip and can honestly say we've never had a problem - so the chalets are basic but considering what we paid we were more than satified! The shop is good for any basics you might need, the Nab bar is lovely for snacks and quiet drinks (we've never eaten a full meal there as we prefer to get out and about the Island and find new places) whereas the Culver Club is louder, more family friendly but still good fun for couple to have a drink.

Added to this it is at the top of the cliffs to the most lovely beach with 2 great cafes for breakfasts and other meals. We love it and will be going again
