We stayed at the Kenmore Club on the banks of Loch Tay for the week of the October school holiday. Our cottage was extremely well appointed with 3 good-sized bedrooms each with its own bathroom. The kitchen (with everything you'd require), dining area (for 8) and open plan living space (with LCD TV, DVD, stereo) was upstairs, with south and west facing balconies. Reasonable weather helped but our kids (13, 11, 3 & 2) had a great time - cycle trips, woodland and lochside walks, swimming in the on-site pool, golfing, pony trekking, visiting local castles, etc. Good restaurants locally at the Kenmore Hotel and brasserie at Mains of Taymouth if you want to walk, otherwise you'll need to drive to Aberfeldy, Fortingall, Ardeonaig. It was the most enjoyable and relaxing holiday I've had for several years.

We spent Thanksgiving week at the Kenmore Club and had a great time. It is a small, 48-50 cottage resort on Loch Tay located in Kenmore, Scotland. The cottages were two story with the bedrooms & baths downstairs and living room, nice size kitchen and dining table & chairs upstairs. Our unit had two balconies on two sides of the unit for a view of the courtyard and lake.

At first I thought the layout should be reversed but during the day when you were up and about the upstairs was nice and warm and at night when ready for bed, the bedrooms were a little cooler downstairs. The kitchen was big but expect european size appliances. There is a washer/dryer combo unit but it is slow and expect tree hours+ to do one load of clothes. There is a laundry facility opened 24hrs on property but it is slow as well.

The property is located approximately 7 miles down a dark, well maintained, narrow road from the learest town (Aberfeldy) which is a fairly small town so shopping may be limited at night.

The resort has an indoor pool & jacuzzi, neither of which we used but saw others in them. located on the lake for great views and lots of visiting ducks. nearby several castles, golf courses, distilleries and lots of hiking opportunities. The resturant in te property was small but worked in a pinch, plan on driving to Aberfeldy.

BTW- a car is a must here. Plan on 1.5 hours from Edinborough Airport. All in all, a nice little place we would certainly consider staying at again.

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
The Kenmore Club is the perfect home away from home. Situated in one of the most picturesque Scottish villages, Kenmore is an area where visitors and residents are lulled by the calming waters of Loch Tay. Aside from being breathtakingly beautiful, the area is also quaint and picturesque. This is an area where street lighting is somewhat frowned upon, as residents prefer not to disrupt the light of the stars. The Kenmore Club's charming, cottage-style accommodations match perfectly with the local environment and allow you to feel completely at home. ... more   less
