“Fantastic Apartment - throughly recommended!”
Reviewed 10 June 2015 for a stay in May 2015

Me, my wife and our 2 year old stayed for 6 nights in May 2015.

The apartment was clean and well appointed, there are great views out of the window, it is ideally located for trips into St Ives (and further afield) and the apartment operator/owner (Cornish Luxury Holidays) were a pleasure to deal with.

Overall a big thumbs up!

“Lovely property in a wonderful part of the country”
Reviewed 23 April 2015 for a stay in April 2015

The best thing about this property is definitely the large balcony overlooking the coast. It gets plenty of sun in the morning and is so nice to sit out on for breakfast. The apartment is also close to the South West Coastal Path which goes straight to St Ives in about 25 mins' walk and is also quite close to Carbis Bay train station for trains which take 3 mins to St Ives. To the owners - please get a new tin opener, as the current one doesn't work!

“Amazing apartment, beautifully finished in a perfect location”

My husband and I stayed at 8 Fernhill in September with a couple of friends and we had a fab week! The apartment is beautifully furnished, it had everything that we needed and more. The open plan living/dining/kitchen area is really lovely and more spacious than it looks in the pictures. The window seats overlooking Carbis Bay are a lovely touch and perfect to enjoy a morning cuppa! The shower is so nice I didn't want to get out of it!

The welcome hamper was full of yummy goodies and a really nice touch. After a six hour journey is was also very much appreciated to arrive to a pint of milk in the fridge and tea bags in the cupboard!

The beds and pillows were really comfy, we normally look forward to getting back to our own bed but not here. The slippers and dressing gowns made the apartment feel extra cosy.

The apartment has lots of useful things that came in handy including the windbreak (for the beach!) and the iron/washing machine/clothes airer - it really is like a home from home.

The walk down to Carbis Bay was downhill for about 10 minutes but it was a nice walk, although could be slippy if there was wet weather so useful to wear trainers rather than flip flops. The walk uphill was a good workout but I'm 6.5 months pregnant and managed it (with a small breather halfway up!). The coastal walk to St Ives is worth doing and takes about 30-40 minutes, alternatively the walk along the road is very easy and it was nice not to have to use the car whilst we were there.

There is only parking for one car so we left one on a side street for the week and it was fine there.

Whilst we stayed we went to the Minack Theatre and ate out at Porthmeor Cafe and The Rum and Crab Shack in St Ives and we'd recommend all three of those too!

All in all a great week, we love the apartment, will recommend it to friends and look for an excuse to go back! Thank you Fernhill :-)

Liked best: The open plan layout, very comfortable beds, powerful shower and the view!
Liked least: The squeaky floorboards outside of the bathroom and the slow drainage in the bath (but we're really nit picking with these!)

“Luxury apartment with amazing views”
Reviewed 31 August 2014 for a stay in August 2014

We spent a wonderful week at 8 Fernhill in August 14.

The accommodation was fantastic, and everything was to a high standard and very comfortable. The views over Carbis bay to the lighthouse were amazing, a view I don't think you would ever get bored with.

It was a steep walk to and from the beach, but only took about 5 minutes and was on a very pretty footpath, the children never complained about the walk.

The coastal path into St Ives took about 20 minutes which we did a few times. St Ives was busier than we remembered but it was the height of the school holidays. But it was so lovely to get back to the apartment which had a sense of calm and of course a quieter location.

We certainly hope to return to 8 Fernhill in the future.

Superb apartment which was clean, modern and comfortable.

All the mod cons (WiFi, DVD player, Smeg fridge!) Amazing views across Carbis Bay to Hayle and beyond and only a 5 minute walk to the beach. Easy access to St.Ives and the A30 to the other attractions.

The only gripes were the parking spaces are snug if you have a medium size or larger car and the duvet was a winter tog despite being summer! Still highly recommended though!

“Stunning views from a equally stunning apartment”

We had the pleasure of staying here 17th may 2014 for one week. The apartment is everything it says it is and more. From the comfy cream leather sofas and dining chairs, to the rain shower head and deep fill bath. The kitchen is well equipped with good quality crockery, cutlery and pans. (John Lewis, M&S, Viners, Pro chef etc) You open the door to the apartment to be met with a beautiful fresh clean smell and a stunning view overlooking the bay towards Gwithian and Godrevy. On the coffee table is a hospitality tray already to go (just add hot water!!) and on the counter top in the kitchen is a welcome hamper with a pint of milk in the fridge. It is the little details that make this place an incredible holiday home, too many to mention on here, but every little detail has been thought of. The walk down to the beach is via a steep narrow path. It was quite slippery when we visited. but then it had been raining an awful lot the week before. Carbis Bay itself is also very hilly. The walk up from the train station, or to Tescos are via big hills, so if you don't like hills, then don't come to Carbis Bay. But if you want to stay in an outstanding home from home, but with much better views, then you can do no better than to stay at 8 Fernhill!
