Under false pretences from a hotelreservation website "exclusief genieten, luxe voor een scherpe prijs: exclusively enjoy, luxurious for a sharp price", also called "freetimecompany"
we booked in this so called 3 star hotel.
We found a room, not clean, 4 by 4 mtr with a shower, which normal people can't get into, at a price 27 % higher than the price paid for by guests booking the hotel direct excluding a 4 course dinner, terrible.
If you need to go to 's Heerenberg, avoid booking trough any other then the hotel itself, but still do not expect more then a 2-star (Sauna is not open!) not friendly and clean place to sleep and eat.

Room Tip: Emmerich, just across the border in Germany hsa some fine, clean hotels at a reasonable price. See...

De Lantscroon is a typical hotel for a smallish provincial city with a long history connected to a Mighty Castle just down the street. The building dates from the first half of the fifteenth century and has functioned variously as the stately home of city notables, as a French boarding school, and as the building of the local Catholic Union. Now it's a pleasant hotel with its quirks.
Reception is very friendly and efficient and trusting (identity cards or prepayment not required; all is on trust). The lobby is more of a hallway with a well lit and roomy bar on the right and the restaurant (with a library!) on the left. The rooms are at the end of the hallway up a rickety staircase. All is rather drab and in need of an entire makeover.
Room: quite large with a huge bed and a postage-stamp size bathroom (no bath but a shower with a nicely forceful waterstream); very small TV; no telephone (they'll come to knock on your door if someone calls); two comfortably baby-club chairs; writing table with enough space. Both wired internet and WiFi (the latter's signal wasn't strong enough in my room; but the wired connection was very good and quick).
Food: the bar is well-stocked, and a nice place to sit to read. Breakfast is rather too meagre, but quite sufficient.
The atmosphere is one of a family-hotel and it reminded me a bit of Faulty Towers. I had an enjoyable stay.

Room Tip: Rooms at the back are most quiet.
