We loved it - it was a great shame that we couldn't have stayed longer - very relaxing and comfortable. Breakfast with the parrots was amazing. Continue to do what you are doing!

We were looking for a little retreat near Brisbane, before heading back to California. We chose The Narrows Escape over other places, because they have free wifi. We were so happy with our choice. Michael and Karen are wonderful hosts, very welcoming and helpful. Michael happily drove us up to the top of the falls so that we could hike the 10km back through the rainforest. Well worth the effort!
The cabins are spacious and secluded from each other, so that we felt like we were in our very own tropical haven. We spent a lot of time in the hammock on the verandah, overlooking the creek. Falling asleep to the sound of the rain on the roof, waking up to the sounds of the rainforest birds and breakfasting on hot croissants, delivered discreetly to our door was all part of a very memorable weekend. We are looking forward to coming back soon to see the newly refurbished rooms.

Room Tip: We scored the cabin at the end of the path, which was very secluded and private.

This luxurious and private accommodation was the perfect ending of our three weeks roadtrip from Melbourne to Brisbane. The hosts are very helpful and respect your privacy. Michael is also a great cook and we really enjoyed the dinner delivered to our bungalow.

There is also a very nice pool area and some great walks into the rainforest: we drove down the Narrows road by car (it's just 5 minutes) and started a walk along the Obi Obi Creek.

We stayed for two nights in January 2014, and it was really the perfect ending of our roadtrip in Australia! We can absolutely recommend it!

My husband and I headed to the Narrows Escape for 2 days to celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary. We stayed in the Kookaburra cabin which is the closest and has a spa both overlooking the rainforest just beside the lounge area. We didn't leave the cabin for 2 days other than to head up and grab a couple of DVDs from the reception area.

The cabin was very nicely set out. The kitchen is a little small, however it had everything you needed. We loved all the little extras such as lots of candles (with refills), matches to light them, corkscrew (amazing how many places don't have one!), oil, salt & pepper, cling wrap and alfoil. There is a great gas stovetop, microwave and a webber BBQ outside, so lots of options to cook.

There were beautiful fresh roses on the table, a decanter of port, a bottle of champagne, a Nespresso for coffee (I have since purchased my own after trying it there!). The bath products were beautiful natural products and are full sized products. There was also a little present on the bed as a nice little extra!

There was a breakfast hamper as part of the 2 day stay which included 6 eggs, Bacon, two yoghurts, a bowl of fruit, a small unsliced loaf of bread, 4 cereals and muesli, fresh jams and other little butters and vegemites, honey etc. Along with this there are fresh croissants delivered at 8am each day. This along with a couple of extras we brought ourselves well and truly supplied 2 days of breakfast. The food is all sourced as much as possible from the local area.

We were able to relax with a bottle of wine (we bought our own, but they had wines in the cabin for purchase if you don't) and a complementary cheese platter - just enough to kick off our first night in comfort and style. It was raining, and my husband had to run up to get a movie from reception, and I happened to open the cupboard at the right time to find an umbrella. The whole 2 days was like that - if you needed something it was there!

We ordered a BBQ hamper for the first night and I was just starting to wonder where it was (around 6pm) when Michael turned up with it. We didn't realise that we would get piping hot garlic bread and potatoes all ready to serve. We just had to cook our meat up quickly and then serve with the bread, potatoes with sour cream and a salad (which did us for the next night as well). It also had 2 good sized deserts with 4 big scoops of icecream (again 2 did for the next night!). There were two dressing for the salad a a few small sauces to choose for the meat. Again it was all the small details that made the difference. It was so easy to just cook up the steak and sausages and sit down to eat.

Sitting in the spa and looking out at the rainforest and listening to the rain was bliss! The couch was comfy enough to settle in and watch a movie or read a book. The hammock also got some time from us both listening to the birds and noises of the australian bush. We also booked a double massage which was lovely and it was great to just be able to get off the table and stay where we were - still nice and relaxed.

When we were leaving Karen mentioned that they are doing up the bathrooms and kitchens in the next couple of months, so I would love to go back and see how they turn out. We have been to a few lovely places in this area, and others around the Gold Coast hinterlands and this is the best we have stayed at - because they paid attention to the small details. We look forward to going back again soon!

Room Tip: We loved the Kookaburra cabin with the spa bath in the lounge area!

Very relaxing experience- great to get away from everyday life for a couple of days and just enjoy each others company, the solitude, natural environment and wonderful service. The massage service and places to eat recommendations were excellent. I don’t think there's much more that could be done- all was amazing and greatly appreciated. From the welcome platter, flowers, awesome brekkie hamper, comfy robes, homey cottages, wonderful hosts (amazing croissants!) a little bit of heaven away from home. We will definitely be back!!

We stayed here for two nights in December, we were over from the UK and stayed in various places around Queensland but our time at Narrows Escape was amazing and definitely the best. I don't think it could be improved, from the hamper on arrival, the port, views and daily fresh croissants I would recommend it to anyone. Also I would recommend the dinner hamper, which was plentiful and delicious!

Spent our 30th Wedding Anniversary in the care of Mike and Karen at Narrows Escape and it was excellent. The attention to detail by the hosts was faultless and the accommodation was perfect. The wildlife was tame and King Parrots fed from our hands; Wompoo Fruit Doves and White-Headed Pigeons fed just metres from the cottage. Peace and tranquillity never before experienced. Well done!
