Looking for a romantic getaway, this lovely studio was just the job, cosy clean with all the little things you need for a stress free break. Drinking wine, sat in front of the wood burner was the highlight.Cooking breakfast on the verandah watching the wild life came close second . Having worked in hospitality for years, we could not find a fault .Thank you and see you soon

You are too kind! So glad that you discovered our little piece of paradise! The Studio certainly makes you appreciate the simple pleasures in life...curling up in front of the wood fire with a loved one or simply sitting and watching/listening to the beautiful sounds of nature. Looking forward to being of service to you again soon! Cheers mate! :)

Kia Ora. The cottage has everything you need with little touches such as complimentary chocolates and champagne, bathrobes and milk for tea and coffee. There is also kindling and firewood ready for the colder months but more kindling was needed during our stay. We didn't have a mobile phone (I know, incredible as it may seem to some people) so contact with the owner for more kindling was difficult. This is probably why no contact was made during our two night stay. The bed was warm and cozy with clean sheets. Clean bathroom facilities and fresh towels. Kitchen facilities clean and tidy with all the basics you could require. Thoughtful ideas such as DVDs and CDs available for guests but only a tiny wee couch to sit upon (although very cute). We enjoyed our stay whilst at the cottage. Cost is relative but we wanted to treat ourselves a bit, as well as being near the centre of town. Cheers

Room Tip: Having its own kitchen and being a little away from the centre of town remember to pick up a few thi...

Mauri ora! Kia ora! Thank you for your kind words about Apple Tree Cottage. Very happy that you enjoyed your stay at the cottage. We will definitely stack more timber during the winter months, it certainly has been very cold lately! Thank you for staying with us in beautiful Montville and all the very best to you all in NZ.

Whilst it was pretty expensive at $230 a night, we really enjoyed our stay. It was lovely to sit in the sun on the verandah with complete privacy overlooking the garden. The kitchenette had everything we needed, it was immaculately clean and the decor was gorgeous.
Walking distance to the Main Street but set back from the main road. Might be time to upgrade the TV , very small and awful sound quality (I'm not picky about tv's at all but it was hard to hear and see when we stayed in to watch a movie).
Overall great stay, will definitely return next time were in the area.

So glad you enjoyed the beautiful Autumn weather we are experiencing...yes it is a lovely spot overlooking the avocado farm. Thank you for your kind comments about how clean and well equipped our rooms are- this is our main priority. Thank you for your feedback on the television, we will look into that today. Looking forward to being of service to you again in beautiful Montville.

NOTE: Our prices are 'FIXED' all year round-even during peak season and public holidays.

We had a nice stay at Appletree Cottage, however, for the overnight asking price, I thought was not value for money when there was no BBQ, no dishwasher, knives couldn't be used as they were so blunt and one roll of toilet paper for an entire house.

Firstly, we are very glad you had a nice stay at Apple Tree Cottage (3brm) and that we see you back in beautiful Montville again soon.

I must personally apologise for the limited supply of toilet paper, our usual procedure is to have 4 rolls stocked-very occasionally they do get overlooked during a cleaning turn-around. We advise all guests to call us if they require anything during their stay, be it extra towels, soaps, toilet paper, fire-wood, etc.

The Cottage is very well stocked with kitchen utensils including very sharp steak knives, which you can find mounted in a timber holder on the kitchen bench-top. We offer our guests a few 'add-ons' such as a complimentary bottle of bubbles, locally ground 'fair trade' coffee, a selection of tea, milk and chocolates.

We have not increased our prices in five years and unbelievably our prices are 'FIXED' all year-even during peak season and public holidays! We think $330 per night (weekend rate) for a Cottage which sleeps upto 5 guests is good value, we even 'throw in' a 6th bed at no extra cost if required.

All prices and amenities are listed clearly on our website.
Looking forward to being of service to you again in the future.

Thanks to the great service provided by Jonathan, we had a lovely stay at this cute little cottage. From the white picket fence, to the exquisite decor, the beautiful surroundings and peacefulness...you can't ask for a better getaway place! The cottage was lovely and clean, fully equipped for a long stay, a short walk away from the main strip of Montville, and it even came with a bottle of wine, plus some bedside chocolates. Can't recommend this place enough, would love to stay there again someday!!!

We were a group of 3 family members who stayed at Apple Tree Cottage for a wedding held at Montville. It was a very convenient location. The cottage was spotless and very comfortable. We enjoyed how quiet it was, surrounded by bush and lots of birdlife. Would definitely recommend it for a couple or a small group.

We had a lovely stay at the cottage, it was such a lovely cosy place. It was clean, tidy and the décor was gorgeous, especially the chicken tiles all around the kitchen. The chocolates and champagne made us feel special as well. We would highly recommend this beautiful cottage.
