“Could be better”

My husband and I went there for breakfast. The views are stunning, the service as great but the food was only ok. I had eggs benedict, hubby had the big breakkie. My bread was dry and the eggs overcooked. Would have expected a bit more for the $21 I paid for it. Husbands eggs were overcooked too and the rest was ok he said.

“What a view and lovely food and service.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 27 January 2014

We were told by the locals to experience the edge and it was worth it. The views are to die for and the food was very nice. It is only open for lunch and breakfast unfortunately as we would have loved to have dinner there. We had the pork croquettes and some lovely as we had a late breakfast that day. We will definitely go back….

“Superb!”

Stunning panoramic views from the terrace and delicious breakfast! Could sit there all day admiring the views of the hinterland and sampling everything on the menu! Definitely returning here!.

“Not so good”

Overpriced for quality of food, which was RSL-like. (No offence to RSLs!). Service was excellent and views of course are lovely, but as a dining experience, very poor.

“So much potential but......”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 15 January 2014 via mobile

Went for lunch yesterday for my birthday. Lovely views, excellent service (Adele). The food, unfortunately, was not good. We had the specials of the day - beer battered snapper x 2@ $26 and the salmon @ $29. The snapper/chips/salad was like something you'd expect for $10 at an RSL. And i suspect it was a reheat job! I had the salmon and mussels in a coconut broth. The salmon was nicely cooked, seared/crusted, but came floating in what was basically a bowl of warm coconut cream with chopped shallots. i don't know what i was thinking! Crusted salmon in soup???? Mussels were ok but as a dish it was a disaster and i ate it all day - it gave me a dose of reflux! The bill for 3 people came to almost $100 including one drink each. For that kind of money i expect better. The service was the highlight - friendly, attentive waitresses. I couldn't recommend this place unfortunately. It is a tourist place so prices will be higher but really, its pub grub at best. So much potential.!! I have had a good coffee here before - maybe stick to that?
