Excellent location for people arriving at Wevelgem airport: 50 meters from the airport building, less expensive than the Biggles restaurant in the airport building. Beautiful terrace, cozy interior decoration. On the menu, typical and classical Flemish dishes, combined with some international touches. While the meat dishes seem to be their specialty, the pasta dishes appear to be very healthy, but lack seasoning. Staff attitude is courteous and professional. Service almost impeccable, but we have two remarks:
- if customers become regulars, they expect some kind of recognition. A simple 'hello again' doesn't cost anything.
- when customers tell the chef that the pasta should have been cooked in salty water, the answer 'too much salt is not good for your health' is not worthy of a decent restaurant.
I would have loved to give Café Passé a higher score (and will be glad to revise my opinion within six months), but they should give themselves a clearer profile first: is this a bar that serves food, a bistro, a brasserie, a lounge café or a restaurant ?
