“Wonderful Hotel”
Reviewed 11 August 2014

We had a fantastic weekend here all the staff were very friendly. The room was fine but toiletries were a little scarce but we had our own anyway so not a problem. The swimming pool and spa were great. The food in the restaurant and bar was second to none. We cannot wait to go back very soon.

We had a lovely stay at Cricklade. The room and the bathroom were clean, the only downside was they are a little mean with supplying toiletries. We were only given a 30ml size shower gel which was not replenished the following day. The Reception staff are very friendly and welcoming and the guys behind the bar were very accommodating. There was a nice range of beers and wines and the cost was about average for a hotel. We opted for a bar snack and ordered a homemade burger with relish, onion rings and fries. It was all fresh and the burger was bangin!! The cost per meal was £12.50 but worth every single penny. Breakfast was good, with a choice of continental or full English breakfast. Produce is sourced locally and again it was lovely.

The views from the veranda were stunning, in fact you could see for miles. Cricklade has a 9 hole golf course on site which is ideal for both beginners and pro's.

We had a lovely time and would recommend to anybody whether it is for a romantic break or a short family getaway.

Cricklade Village is about a 4-5 minute drive away and hosts many good bars. if you fancy an Indian take away Chutney will deliver to the hotel and their food is amazing!

We had an enjoyable, comfortable stay here. The room was spacious and clean. We enjoyed the breakfast, spa, swimming pool and large games room. The hotel has a few areas which are due for a little refresh. The conservatory is particularly relaxing.

The hotel is a very pleasant and gentle location for a nice relaxing break. The decor is a little tired particularly in the bedrooms and the general ambience could benefit from a fresh makeover.

A quiet relaxing place with a fun nine hole golf course, gymnasium and swimming pool it provides a great place to chill for a night or two but the facilities struggle to break beyond Three Star.

The staff are extremely pleasant and helpful and go a long way to providing a very pleasant experience.

The restaurants attempt at providing Fine Dinning is somewhat misplaced with style attempting to mask the huge void of substance. There is far more to fine dinning than fancy presentation, food served on a slate tile and well over priced tariffs/head. The standard of the actual cooking was not 'great'.

Room Tip: Ask for a room over the bar and restaurant looking out over the golf course.

Cannot rate this hotel highly enough. Attended a wedding here so stayed two nights in this lovely hotel. Free use of the swimming pool, a fabulous free snooker room, lovely golf course and grounds and places to relax. The room was lovely with a sleigh bed and a balcony overlooking the tennis courts and grounds. Food was excellent, we had dinner in the restaurant, lunch in the conservatory and the complimentary breakfast which were all delicious with plenty of choice. The staff were so friendly, and could not do enough for us. The wedding itself was held in the hotel, and was an excellent venue. The staff did everything to make the day perfect for the couple and all the guests, from the champagne reception through to the dinner which was excellent and the evening which was brilliantly organised.
This is an excellent stay for a weekend or a brilliant venue for a wedding.
