We stayed here for our wedding anniversary. The pub is in a lovely, picturesque location. We had a lovely warm welcome and when we asked if we could have a late check out the next morning we were advised we could - with no extra charge! This meant we had a lovely relaxing Sunday morning. The food was great, especially the breakfast and Sunday roast. Our evening dinner was partly spoiled by the table we were given - plus they had the fire on which would be great in the winter but too hot on a sunny April day. Our room was lovely with a fab stand alone bath. The only downside is that you have to remember this is a pub so expect some noise (especially from the lady next door on her phone!). Also the bathroom overlooked the outside 'beer garden' which meant that wafts of cigarette smoke ventured in every now and then. Not great for the non smokers. We will be back - but just for Sunday dinner! If booking for lunch / dinner as a couple - ask for one of the window tables.

My husband and I just stayed one night but wished it had been longer. We were greatest by a polish girl with a warm smile and friendly attitude. She showed us to our room and also served us later that night for supper. The food was amazing. I recommend the cheese soufflé to start .
Our room was cosy, clean, comfy bed and a big bathroom.
We were served a delicious cooked breakfast to enjoy sat by the fire with the days papers.
We visited barnsley house for afternoon tea and the food and staff were lovely there too.

Look forward to visiting again!

i've stayed at the wheatsheaf inn before, love the place but found the rooms are charming but extremely noisy so i thought i would give the village pub a try. how i wish i had gone back to the wheatsheaf!!!! i already had what they claimed is the largest room with a walk in shower (except even i at 5 ft 6) the shower head is not over my head! the room is dusty, finishing is horrible and just as noisy! the room is facing the road and at reservation i already told them i need a quiet room so i imagine quiet is relative. the room at the regular rate is extremely overpriced and have no charm whatsoever and rather reminded me of dormitory rooms in college and yet they are charging 170 pounds? i do feel i was cheated into booking into this place. i would not recommend this place to anyone. if you need comfort, go to the ellenborough park, the rates are even lower there.

Room Tip: dont stay here would be my recommendation

We found this by chance while touring the Cotswolds. We were impressed with the service and décor, not to mention the home made bread, open fire and very stylish interior!

Service was excellent. We only had a light lunch, soup and a terrine, but it was delicious. Will come again and stay for B&B.

Phoned up last minute, were told we could have a table at 9.15 but could come for a drink first. Arrived at 8pm.. greeted by friendly staff and had a drink at the bar. They were able to fit us in on a nice little table much earlier at 8.30pm. We had a burger and the pork belly. Great food and when the comfy arm chairs in the bar area became available we were offered them to have a few more drinks after dinner. Definitely will be back!
