Had a lovely weekend at The Plough Inn. The staff were so helpful and friendly. The pub/hotel is a lovely place. The room was small but well appointed. Breakfast of a good standard. Highly recommended.

Just had a two night stay. Beautiful setting, although parking could be an issue especially at the weekend. On arrival the staff were friendly, although the promised afternoon tea was not forthcoming.
The room was very clean and the bathroom renovated to a good standard. The furniture was adequate and leant itself to the old charm of the inn and surroundings.
Ate there on two evenings. The food was very good and everything homemade - no fast frozen food! The steak was tender and the fish burger was excellent.
The bar whilst small had a good ambience. The bar staff, especially the young man who appears to be the only one able to make liqueur coffee, we're very welcoming, polite and friendly and helped to promote a relaxing atmosphere.

Room Tip: Stayed in the Cotswold room which is over the bar area and the noise from the bar could be slightly noisey, although didn't disturb us may affect others.

The Plough at Kelmscott is the best pub we have visited on this recent trip up the Thames from Oxford to Lechlade. Visited for food and drink on bank holiday Monday. Received a friendly welcome from the staff. Menu was good. Had starter and main. Well prepared food. Fish Finger Burger is interesting, small whale in a bun - you won't go hungry here. Beers were well kept with a good selection of local ales. Can't comment about the accommodation as we did not stay, but the location, building and staff are excellent. D&S 26/5/14

When we got to the hotel we found dirty stair carpet, a tiny bar, no parking belonging to the pub just on the street. In our room the toilet had a notice saying plumber was due to fix next week. Cleanliness in bathroom and bedroom were poor. There was a crack in window pane. It was a claustrophobic room, tiny cheap matsui TV set. After we were shown our room we were dubious and so we went to the small bar and ordered the afternoon tea the go groupie break came with. There were cobwebs around bar so spiders must find the place attractive. Our afternoon tea came. One scone each, cream and jam and tea made in a giant coffee pot. The tea was so weak it was undrinkable. The scone had been warmed in a microwave and tasted unpleasant. We were so shocked by the place we went back to the muddy road where we had been forced to leave or car and drove off. Not to return.

Another great stay at the Plough. We had 4 nights this time and really enjoyed our stay again.
We have stayed here several times and have always been made to feel welcome.
Callum and Sallie are amongst a few of the staff that nothing is too much trouble. Looking forward to staying again in July.

Room Tip: William Morris room is great. We have also stayed in the Kelmscott room as well.
