“Ugh!”
Reviewed 24 June 2013

What can I say? This place could be a little gold mine... Sadly it's not a place I would choose to visit for a meal. On the occasions I have eaten at Brooks's the food has been poor, greasy, cheap sausages, tasteless bacon - not nice. The staff are not particularly interested in serving the customers, the decor is very dated and dark. This place could be amazing, it needs a complete redesign inside and new menus and a new chef - if they upped their game then it would be the nicest place to eat in town - we really need somewhere that seves decent food in a nice, modern setting. Come on Brooks's, Highworth deserves better than your current offerings!

“Very dated cafe serving poor food from a tea room menu”
Reviewed 26 December 2012

Part bakers and part cafe/restaurant this is one of the few places in Highworth where you can sit down for a cup of cafe and light meal.

The decor is seriously outdated, with the interior looking like a chinzy tea room from the 1970's. The tables are spaced well apart but quite small.

They offer a range of Full English and egg breakfasts, supplemented by a wide range of main course meals. Having visited this place several times the cooking can only be described as poor. My scrabbled eggs were as dry as dust and served on coldish toast. My partners poached eggs were solid. The croissants were poor quality.

Service is friendly and mostly by youngsters. They open early for breakfast most mornings of the week, and given the dearth of other cafes in the area, this is probably the only real reason for visiting this place again.
