Very clean and bright. Staff very friendly and helpful, and very cheap. There Is a Lovely Patio Where You can Have Meals and/or Drinks. This Is A Hostel. But I have Stayed In And Payed A Lot More For Star Rated Hotels. And This Little Place proved Better Than Many Of Them

Room Tip: Try to get a room away from traffic noise

This a small BUDGET hotel. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. The lady speaks great English and helped me with my Spanish. She also cooked me a lovely vegetable soup in her surgically clean kitchen. The rooms were clean. The beds were comfortable.
It is well located in the centre of town, close to the beach, on a busy road and its going to be noisy. The bar downstairs stays open very late as do all Spanish bars and it is noisy. But I was there in the off season and was able to choose from several rooms. I found the quietest I could and always travel with a small packet of foam earplugs which totally drown out the noise and are comfortable enough to sleep with. My bathroom was kind of outside on my private terrace. I paid 20 Euros a night. Need I say more! Most people's problems arise when they choose a budget hotel and expect to stay at a 5 star resort. I cannot stress how nice the owners are.
There is both a small courtyard garden and a rooftop terrace where you can sit and soak in the sounds of Spain.

Room Tip: Rather be away from the bar where there is a table soccer game that is a noisy machine!

Pension La Herradura is a very typical, authentic place to stay, decorated with bright colours, great atmosphere. Very clean and comfortable. The staff were tremendous, they even helped me learn more Spanish. This was my first foreign holiday in over ten years, and it was such a great place we will be going back again with-in the next 6 months. Unbelievable value for money.

Room Tip: We stayed in room 116, with its own personal terrace...this just made the stay even more enjoyable.

This hostal was perfectly situated close to the beach and was comfortable. It was what you expect from a Spanish pension and we found it very good. We had arranged to meet old friends in La Herradura as it is half way between where we both live and once we had been shown to our room we went down to the bar and waited with a cold beer.
Our friends were shown to their room and we had lunch which was very good but typical of what you get in such places.
Our stay was overnight and we found it comfortable, clean and friendly. We have been back since and enjoyed it just the same.

Room Tip: Face the front but expect some noise.

If you don't have time to read long story short = a lot of cocroaches in the room, uncomfortable tiny bed, extremely noisy, arrogant staff as soon as you have some problem. This was the first time in 10+ years of traveling around the globe we had to cancel our stay after the first night. We are used to stay in all range of hotels from small inns and pensions till 5 stars. From a small pension for 50 euro per night we really don't expect any luxury. But this passed any bearable limits. We've got indeed a warm welcome and the staff looked friendly as everyone is mentioning here. But there it ended. We've asked for silent room in advance - and we are not naive - it the coast area of spain it's almost an oxymoron. But we were presented with two options. One was  a room which entrance was from bar open till late hours and window on the same level as the busiest road in the town and right next to the road (no sidewalk) so all the cars were passing literally two meters from the bed. The other one was above that bar and with the only window facing the same busy road. Of coarse the windows anc the door were very poorly isolated. Not to mention the paper-thin walls. We chose the upper one. The bed had very old matress covered in plastic and it was extremely small (I'm 182cm tall and missed good 15-20cm to squeeze my legs in the bed). The room was also very dark. We tried to get some sleep but it was so noisy that we slep maybe for 30 minutes in total. Even with closed window and curtains the noise was unbearable. And with the A/C on you simply won't get enough oxygen to breath normally unless you open the window. Until now we were not happy but also not surprised and not complaining. But then in the night we found that there are big COCROACHES all over the room as well as in the bathroom, tens of them!!!!!. There we like 4-5cm big. They started to run when we turned the light on. I've killed some in the bathroom and catched one in a bag with our vitamins and cosmetics. We spent the night packing our things - checkin every single piece for cocroaches. And then sitting on the stairs in front of the reception waiting for the staff to arrive until 9:30am - no body was picking up the phone when we tried to call. When we tried to explain the situation in a second the staff changed their behaviour from being nice to totally arrogant and unhelpful. We really kept our emotions under control and tried to explain it with cool head but were shocked when instead of apology the staff started to argue that it's the first time someone is complaining about that - in a loop no matter what we said. They immediatelly stopped to speak english and my girlfriend had to translate everything to spanish. It was totally embarassing that I had to show them one of the insects catched in a bag - they kept telling us that it's first time some iscomplaining and that did't see that before. They kept telling that even after i had to show them one of the insects killed in the bathroom. We very trully SHOCKED. At the end they asked us if we brought it in a bag with food with us!!!! We couldn't believe our ears and we are still shocked a week after leaving the hotel. We have not got any apology, we were acused of bringing the insects to their hotel and we had to pay for the night actually. I trully don't know how worse it could have gotten if we wouldn't swallow it all,  pay and leave. Oh and the parking next to the hotel is an unpaved dirt where people go out with dogs and dump trash. A total disaster.
