We have been to this restaurant on previous occasions under other owners when it was a wonderful dining experience coupled with the most fantastic views. Sadly, it is not as good as once it was. Starters were very good for both of us, I had the almond and garlic soup which was delicious and my wife had melon and local ham. The main courses were something of a let down, good meat but cold/warm vegetables and not much of them. Service was average, good to start but then seemed to lose interest. There were more staff than customers which we found surprising for a Thursday night. Overall, quite disappointing.

We had driven passed this restaurant several times whilst driving on a back road with scenic views on our way to Nerja from La Herradura but neither of us mentioned it until very late one afternoon when we could not find anywhere we particularly wished to dine at in Nerja and didn’t want to eat at the hotel we were staying at as we felt we had exhausted the menu, it was funny as we both said "what about that lovely place we keep passing in the magnificent setting” We didn’t think it would be open but as we were passing that way, we felt we should give it a try. We were not disappointed, we were asked to choose were we would like to sit- we chose a lovely spot beneath the arbour overlooking La Heradura bay which was framed by the pine trees. It was so refreshing after the heat of the day to sit down and breath the fresh pine filled air. The service was excellent, the waitress laid our table, which was under the arbour with a pristine white tablecloth, the painted plant pot light shades were quirky, we fell in love with our secret special find and hoped the food was a good as the setting, we were not disappointed. My husband dislikes salads but as the goats cheese salad had such amazing depth and flavour even Hubby couldn’t get enough. I chose Cod for main it was cooked to perfection and so fresh, Hubby had the fillet steak which again was beautifully cooked succulent and tender. We couldn’t manage a dessert but were given complimentary liquor with our bill. We were so impressed we tried to go back the following evening only to discover it is closed on Mondays. We left for home early on he Tuesday morning, however we look forward to our next visit to the beautiful Mirador de Cerro Gordo.
