We have just returned from 3 nights with Jill and Dave Drummie at their top of the range bed and breakfast Los Arcos in the main square of Valor. This is a beautifully converted traditional building with all modern amenities and a spectacular view of the Alpujarras from the large roof top terrace. Jill and Dave were the perfect hosts from the welcoming drink on arrival to the cordon bleu dinners, including wine, each evening and Dave even ferried us back and forth to the airport at Almeria. They also took us on wonderful walks up into the mountains just above the village. Valor ia a wonderful base to explore Andalucia and is within reasonable reach of Granada.
We cannot recommend Los Arcos too highly.

Generous, knowledgeable hosts, good rates, excellent accommodation. English and Spanish speaking hosts who picked us up from UGIJAR to take us to Valor. A very good stay.

We are buying a house ourselves in the area, which is not yet ready so stayed at Los Arcos.
David and Jill were very hospitable and made us feel very welcome and also gave us lots of helpful advice .
The accommodation is excellent and very clean with comfortable rooms and a roof garden with beautiful views over the surrounding area.
Breakfast is plentiful with fresh home baked bread and a variety of fruits.
We stayed in for dinner one evening and Jill is a wonderful cook and we had a fantasitc
dinner, as much as Jill is a great cook, David is a superb host and certainly does not stint with th brandy!
If you are visiting the area this is te place to stay. Peter, Moira and James Hill.

We booked this trip after a recommendation from a colleague, who knew that we liked walking, Spain and 5 star luxury. From the moment we arrived at the delightfully restored Spanish house, we knew we were in for a treat. It was immaculate. David and Jill set very high standards and it shows in every detail. Excellent food, breakfast, packed lunch/picnic and dinner. They thought of everything including drinks and pre-dinner canapes. Fantastic roof-top terrace with panoramic views over the Sierra Nevada. We chose the walking package, which included 4 days of guided walks with David our host in the Alpujarras. Fabulous walks in truly great locations. Amazing! Really looking forward to returning in the future.

Our third trip to Los Arcos and it just keep getting better! This fantastic guest house, run by Jill & Dave Drummie is nestled in the quaint village of Valour. We spent seven days hiking in the beautiful and tranquil mountains of the Alpujarras. The sun was shining, the food delicious and the wine plentiful. It was a magical week, but it didn't end there. We finished off our holiday with a long weekend in Granada and what a vibrant and interesting city it is. We made up our own 'town trail' and visited all the key attractions on foot. The evenings were plesantly spent trying out all the complementary tapas - something not to be missed!
It was a truly memorable holiday and we can't wait to go again next year.

Not my first time to stay in this great little place, and won't be my last. We enjoyed unseasonably fine weather that was perfect for hiking, and we joined the group that was led first by Jill on a one day hike to Yegen and beyond. On the following day Dave took us to Laujar, to hike up the valley along the route of an abandoned waterrace that led through tunells in the rock and commanded striking views. The return leg of the hike brought us down on the other side of the valley through a pine forest and back to the minibus for the trip back to Los Arcos and dinner.
On the third day we opted not to join the group and instead went on a long stroll on the trails near the village, ending up back on the roof terrace of Los Arcos enjoying some complimentary drinks in the sunshine.
As always, we never allow ourselves enough time in this scenic and relaxing village, but next time we intend to take extra days and explore more of the walks.
Loved the horpitality, the sense of being alowed to make yourself at home, and the expert guiding of Dave and Jill. The picnic lunches provided each day were amazing.

My partner and I had the pleasure of spending two nights of our recent trip to Andalucia at the LOS ARCOS bed and breakfast. This is a beautifully restored village house with five spacious en-suite bedrooms owned and run by David and Jill Drummie. The bathrooms are large and bright with thick towels and various toileteries. The beds are extra comfortable, there is plenty of storage space and our room had it`s own roof terrace with table and chairs ! The whole house was extra cosy thanks to the wood burning stove in the lounge and central heating throughout. We enjoyed two very tasty meals cooked with great care by Jill and sampled some excellent local wine, whice along with pre dinner drinks, tappas, coffee and a night cap are all included in the dinner price.Breakfast was a feast with fresh bread and croissants from the village baker, fruit salad, cerials etc.etc.By far the best breakfast on our trip and very good value.
