My first taste of a villa on a golf resort.
Fantastic if you want to lounge around the pool with the family and play the odd round of golf.
Life is so easy because there's several different restaurants, bars and a spar shop all walking distance from villas.
Surreal because you could be in England other than the weather, as even the local staff speak incredibly good English.
You need a car for any trips out as it is a way from anywhere interesting. I'd recommend a swim in La Manga a very warm and floaty experience.
Everything we needed in a spacious, tastefully furnished apartment. Lovely bedrooms and bathrooms with plenty of storage and lights. Great kitchen, with a huge fridge freezer, plenty of cupboards a dishwasher (joy) and washing machine. A choice of dining indoors or looking out from the balcony over the pool. Sun beds on the balcony and portables to take down to the well maintained pool, which was never over crowded. We know the resort well and were pleased to find a handy footpath to the well stocked shop (open 7 days in summer). Plenty of choice for food, we love Olivos behind the Intercontinental Hotel and Bombay Dreams on the boulevard just outside the complex. We took our daughter to the mini disco a few times a week (8-10pm Mon/Wed/Fri/Sun above The Clover at the hotel). There is a bus stop by the gates, but we drove to La Manga, Calblanque, Cartagena, The Mud Baths and several other lovely beaches. Marc the owner was very helpful over the phone prior to our stay and we had a very professional service from the keyholder with lots of detailed emails. We hope to be back next year.
