“Please make sure you try this jem”
Reviewed 12 March 2012

This was our first trip to the island and to El Cotillo, unfortunately we didn't find La Capitana until our penultimate night. It was a monday night and quiet but we were well looked after , we ordered a couple of simple starters which were very nice and followed on with Chefs Fish Fillet and a Sirloin Steak. My steak was cooked to perfection and accompagnied by an excellent half bottle of Rioja was most enjoyable, my wifes fish was completely boneless and she rated her jug of Sangria to be the best of the week. Neither of us could fit a pudding in so we left well contented and only 54 euros lighter.

“Perfect”

One of the best meals in El Cotillo. Plaice and King Prawns baked in salt were two of the best mains we have eaten this holiday. Highly recommended

“Good restaurant but beware of the mussels!”
Reviewed 27 September 2011

The location of the restaurant - the old harbour - was excellent and was a good place to catch the beautiful sunsets. The service was good and the waiter was friendly. On our first visit we had two of the excellent fish dishes - the fresh fish was on view as you entered the restaurant. There was also a reasonale selection of deserts. Our first experience was so good we decided to go back again the following week. Unfortunately, this was not so good. We had the mussels as a starter. When they came it was a fairly large plate of large mussels. Unfortunately they had been seriously over cooked and resembled a piece of rubber. The other starter we had was a mushroom dish and the quantity of mushrooms was reallly generous. All in all a reasonably pleasant experience.

“Lovely meal out !”
Reviewed 14 August 2011

As we live on the island, we don´t eat out too often. As we had family over, we always love to go and watch the sunset in Cotillo and this restaurant is excellent to see just that. The service was brilliant, within minutes the children had their meals and the adults had a small hors d´hoeurs on the house which was really nice. The meals were first class ! And we had a great evening. Some of us had fish and others a steak and all food was cooked to perfection. Definately recommend this restaurant. After the meal we were all offered the usual Chupitos, but let´s just say their size of a chupito was one that would last you 30 minutes :-) We´ll be back soon ;-)

“Excellent Place to eat”
Reviewed 18 May 2011

Been going to Fuert for a number of years now and we always pay this place a visit!!

Food is excellent, meat lovers try the hearty calf steak (veal chop cooked on the medium rare side)!! Best piece of steak and chips on the island, fillets are good too..

The fish is always fantastic, we always share the grilled fish platter between two. Loads of grilled fish (whatever the catch of the day maybe), we even tried parrot fish on our last trip, amazing! salt baked fish cooked in perno is good too...

In summary a really good place to eat in el cottillo the views of the old harbour make this place a little gem particularly at sunset een though it has changed hands the quality is still as good and the menu still the same !!!

Back there in October 2011 for sure !!!
