This was our first visit to Fuerteventura. Stayed 1 week in Faro Vista 16. Top quality apartment - had everything we needed. Very well equipped with superb views over lagoons. Will definitely go again.

First impressions of the apartment block from the road isn't great. It looks very stark. However apartment was really spacious with a fabulous sun terrace on the roof. Very private with fab views of the lagoons. The pool was nice and manned by a lifeguard so safe for children. There is a gate by the pool which takes you straight onto the beach. Absolutely perfect location. Lovely restaurant Sotovento just next door which is very reasonably priced and food is gorgeous. Would definitely return to Marfolin

Apartments are well equipped with lovely communal swimming pool and views over lagoons from roof-top terrace are wonderful. However beware of choosing an apartment with a roof-top terrace (as we did, unwittingly) as bedrooms and living room overlook opposite side of the building: lorries returning from desalination plant (just opposite the building) thunder past from 4 am every morning emitting noise and diesel fumes. The en suite bathroom in apartment 26 also gave off a horrible smell which apparently was a result of the plant and, according to the agent, nothing could be done about it. We chose the apartments as we were looking for a peaceful location and these problems spoilt the holiday for us.

Room Tip: Choose an apartment with all windows overlooking lagoons where you will not be troubled by passing lorries. Avoid apartments with roof-top terrace.

Last stayed here in 2009 in appt. 16 and were in appt. 17 this year.
Booked this time through Simply Cotillo and could not fault the service from Brenda and Rick or the property. Excellent views over the lagoons, with the restaurants and centre of Cotillo a short walk away.
The balcony is huge, 60 sq meters and had the sun from 10:30 - sunset.
Very quiet and very secure, everything you need provided.

We love El Cotillo, the beach is fab, the sea lagoons are shallow and safe for children and weak swimmers like me.
The apartments in Marfolin are individually owned so the decor will vary. They have been built and finished to a very high standard, although from the outside the block looks a little utilitarian.
There is a life guard on duty for most of the day (at least there was in September) a very pleasant young man, Danny, and another nice chap, Robert, who maintains the grounds and pool area too. They are both very helpful and willing to offer advice on the area.
There was free wi-fi in September but it is a little erratic, I guess it's best to look on the service as added value rather than rely on it for anything really important. If you are thinking of booking and you really need an internet connection then I think you need to ask your contact about the connectivity.
There is a regular bus service but we prefer a car and it does make life a lot easier.
If you do have a car try (carefully) driving out of El Cotillo towards the lighthouse and fishing museum - the beaches there are lovely and it is a site of special scientific interest. You will find a network of roads and street lights but these were built in advance for hotels which, thankfully, were never built. Be very careful once you leave these roads as the sand blows up over the 'track' and can make it a bit tricky.
So, basically the apartments are lovely, the beach is beautiful, the sunsets, superb and the village has good supermarkets and restaurants.

Room Tip: We stayed on the ground floor but think the upper floor would have better sunset views.
