“On the beach”
Reviewed 7 October 2013

We booked here only for 1 night as didn't want to contend with the larger centre of Calais. It is tucked away down a French country road but worth it to escape the hustle and bustle and relax on the very very long, secluded and quiet beach.
We arrived late in the evening but had enough time to dash to the bistro down the lane and order take away pizza before it closed and before the hotel desk manager left for the night. We had a lovely big room and bathroom on the main floor with access to the terrace to sit and listen to the quiet and the waves. Drawback is the door doesn't have an outside handle so rigging up a string tied to the insude handle was a challenge = wanted to keep the bugs out. Also the terrace doesn't have any exit but through your patio door so can't access the car park or beach except via the hotel. This door was the only vent for fresh air as there wasn't a screened window so couldn't leave open for security and critter reasons.
We didn't stay for breakfast so can't comment.
All the staff we encountered from the front desk to the cleaners were friendly and helpful.
i wish we had booked more time to stay and enjoy.

Just stayed here for a couple of nights. Great location, right on the beach. Very friendly staff and nice clean room. The place is unmanned between 8pm and 8.00 am, but you can get in with your key during that time.
The big drag is the lack of Internet. You get a code, but it drops out every few seconds and is basically non existent. It gets very frustrating to say the least.

First, the good points. Easy and efficient online reservation procedure. Pleasant (though fussy) welcome. Nice sized room (no 8) with large bathroom. Very comfortable bed; piping hot water; good sea view.

There is private parking - but on the beach and accessible to the world. OK off season, but at busy times one might be a bit anxious.

Now, the down side. The hotel is only manned between 8 am and 8 pm. This was not explained to us on arrival, so when I wanted to pay and leave at 7.15 am there was no one about. At 7.30 two women arrived to prepare the breakfast (which we did not have - so cannot comment on). One told me that I would have to be patient until 8 am. So we packed, loaded the car, left the car park and waited. At 7.55 the same woman sat at the desk and - rather nippily - dealt with the bill.

Had I known about the absence of staff at night, I would have settled up on arrival.

Room Tip: Ground floor with sea view - nos 5 to 8 seem best.

This hotel is very nice, brand new... Weak point TV too small for the size of the room, missing bedside lamps if you need to wake up during the night without wakening up your partner...except these minor details, bed very comfortable, room spacious, owner very nice....

Breakfast is simple but very good, if you feel like you can even press your fresh orange juice....this is more a continental breakfast than English one but you can find a lot of variety yoghurts, fresh fruits, cheese, ham, salami, honey, nutella etc etc....

If you want to enjoy the view on the sea, you should try to have a room on the 1st or 2nd floor - ground floor Room 3 view on the see is hidden by a beach cafeteria which is not very nice....

Weak point is that you have a terrace but this one is not privatised, they should have put paneling to give some privacy if you want to enjoy the seats on the terrace....

This hotel is working together with Hotel Samoria Audighen and restaurant La Chaloupe in Wissant - they are a bit pushy to book you the resto (probably same family) but no obligations at all...La Chaloupe is not in the main street of Wissant but is very nicely decorated and very good restaurant - so even if pushy for you to book there it is worth trying....

Room Tip: Better a room on the upper floors than ground floor to enjoy the view - ground floor rooms have a vi...

This is a very new hotel--just a few months old. It's super clean, uncluttered and very comfortable. I asked for and got a room with a view to the water. Ok, there was an ice cream kiosk there too, but still, open the door to a terrace (what we Americans would call a patio) and you are looking at sea and sand.
The staff is very friendly yet unobtrusive. Need dinner reservations? They will be made for you in seconds. Need some extra towels, etc? All you have to do is ask.
If you're renting a car, as I was, there is free parking on site. No worries there. The breakfast is fine: standard fare with cereal, toast, yogurt, juice and coffee, but at 9 euros a little on the pricey side.
The hotel is non-smoking, but judging from the number of butts in ashtrays on the patio, some folks take advantage of smoking just outside their rooms. I never noticed the smoke, and I'm pretty quick to pick up on it, so that may be a big selling point for many looking for a hotel.
Bottom line: for the price (95 euros a night) right by the sea (I was on the beach in a minute each morning) it was just what I was looking for.

Room Tip: I had room 4..open your door and it's beach time.

Great location at end of a huge sandy beach. The hotel is new and the rooms relatively spacious with a large bed and comfortable bed with firm feather pillows. Also a good buffet breakfast for a supplement. Being out of season many things were closed in Wissant during our stay but we found a good value meal at Chez Edwiga a few minutes walk away in the village.

Room Tip: Choose a room with a sea view, there is a supplement but we felt it was worth it for the view across...
