“Experiencing relax”
Reviewed 27 July 2013

My husband and I were looking for a real break from our busy life. We found this amazing place by chance while we were driving from Siena to Perugia. When we arrived at Villa San Giovanni we thought: that's it, this is the place.
The thermal swimming pools offered us a unique experience of deep relaxation, together with the enjoyment of the amazing landscape and hotel services. We were surrounded by green hills and trees, white water and good food. The only noise we heard was the one of singing birds. Of course, during the high season, you will probably experience less silence.
I strongly recommend treatments at the SPA Centro Benessere for couples or single who need to restore mind and body.

Room Tip: Keep in mind that comfort room are nice but small. If you are willing to pay an extra price, I would...

Been here twice and will for sure be back for another relaxing weekend. The rooms are very basic but comfortable. The pool area is nice and green with a beautiful view over the Tuscan landscape. The water is warm and the pool area, the one reserved for the hotel guests is very quiet and relaxing. The food in the restaurant is ok but can be better. Breakfast is very good with lots of choice and tasty cornettos. The first time I came we had a lovely aperitivo in the garden before dinner but this time, I guess due to lack of personnel we didn't find anyone in the bar and decided to skip it. The area is very calm so do not expect to do late hours so I would suggest this place to couples and families.

My friend and I took a trip to Rapolano on a nice spring day to go to the natural sulfur ridden thermal baths. The location is picturesque, surrounded by the Collini Senesi (Sienese Hills) and the setup of chairs and options of the 3 different temperature baths are awesome. At a price of 11 euro per admission, it is hard to say no to such a lovely day of luxury.

We were in three two adults and one child (14 years) placed in a small cubicle for three nights at the price of a 5 star hotel. Indecent bathroom so small that the door of the shawer could not be fully opened. Low quality food served pretentioisly.

What an amazing experience. On our honeymoon. got there by chance. It was a great treat. I would very much love to come back soon. I recommend it highly. The Only problem was no English menus, but that's a minor issue. All in all - fantastic!

We visited the spa the day after arriving in Italy and it helped our souls to catch up to our bodies (a William Gibson reference). We just used the spa - didn't go to the bar or stay at the hotel.

With family of 4 (kids 13 and 9) we thoroughly enjoyed using all of the pools. The indoor room has a definite "funk" to it, but with the amount of sulphur in the water this isn't unexpected nor is it unpleasant. Be sure to use all of the pools, though I'll admit I didn't use the last (coolest) pool...

The place is largely locals so you won't hear a lot of English, which I really enjoyed. The staff understand enough to get by and if you start off in Italian they'll support you through the conversation - just try.

The Locker rooms are great (free - just pay a deposit for the key) and the showers are a must after being in the mineral saturated water - you'll need to rinse yourself and your suits off no matter what.

The local rumour is that the water fixes all kinds of skin ailments and though we didn't see any massive difference we all felt very good afterwards.

Overall a great way to spend a few hours relaxing.

WARNING: We have a Garmin Nuvi GPS and we typed in "Rapallano Terme" - it directed us to the train station so we were concerned. Couldn't find the place in the GPS but we noticed a shuttle bus from the hotel picking up people so we followed it!!!

Beautiful located "Terme" spa with 39¤ temperatured pools both indoors and outdoors, and the pools are filled with white minerals reminding about sticky mud that you can rub all over your body. Good and priceworthy food in a beautiful Tuscan surrounding. We did not stay @ the hotel..
