Recommended this restaurant by our local agriturismo.
Off the beaten track. Stunning setting. Typical tuscan food, very reasonably priced.
The main reason I'm writing this review is because whilst we were perusing the menu, the owner brought us without any doubt the best focaccia I have ever tested. Crispy tangy crust, soft olive oil middle… honestly never tasted one quite like it.
We visited on a quiet night and were treated very well. Beer put in a cooler, Grappa selections brought out for tastings at the end of the meal… if you're in the area don't hesitate to drop in.

After a morning at the Spa in Rapolano we decided on this restaurant for lunch. It was the right decision. It took a little finding as the signs from the road were missing but with a bit of faith we turned off left and went down the track and found the host there to welcome us. Tuscany seems to be having a very slow start to the season and we were the only ones there. But that made us the very lucky ones. A super-fresh tuscan antipasto, homemade ravioli with a walnut sauce and steaks cooked over the fire to perfection, the best roast potatoes we have had in 11 years here in Tuscany and salad just from the garden. So many people are missing out if they do not try this restaurant, the host is welcoming, knowledgeable and his cook is excellent. ilFrantoio please, please, fix your road signs I am sure so many more people would come if they could find you.

this is a place you need to find. it is not easy task to get there from the main road, but it is worth it.
the owner is very nice person and his cook is amazing. the food served is simple, but made from the local fresh ingredients and it is delicious. we enjoyed starters, pasta, meat, desserts, wine, coffee....everything...and all homemade.
the price is VERY good for what you get.

Our hosts at the nearby Podere Alberese, recommended this restaurant to us and called in a reservation for us. When we arrived, we were dismayed that the restaurant was not wheelchair accessible but this did not deter the owner/manager. He and a waiter carried the wheelchair with its occupant up the six or seven stairs to the dining room from the entrance and arranged the table to accommodate the wheelchair. Once settled in, we were treated to a culinary delight cooked by the owner's wife. Boar is apparently a delicacy in this area so members of our group tried the boar stew and the boar pasta, both of which were delicious. I had the tortellini with 4 cheeses which was quite good. And, the homemade chocolate gelato and panacotti were excellent. Service was a bit slow (they were short a waiter) but always friendly and helpful and the food was well worth the wait.
