Il Quadrifoglio (the Clover) is a very good trattoria just off the town centre of Rapolano. They both work as a take away and a restaurant. This means you can actually opt for things you see over the counter or just choose from the menu or a bit of both. It offers traditional Tuscan dishes and others of the mainstream Italian cuisine. Good tasty portions. Wine is also served by the measure, you will be all right with the house wine.
The place is comfortable and tables are well spaced despite the rather small room of the restaurant. It is a unpretentious trattoria, with welcoming service and honest prices. I normally spend between 15 to 20 EUR for a complete meal.
Credit cards accepted. Parking is available in a nearby lot.
I would recommend if you want to eat well, be comfortable and spend reasonably.

My husband and I were day tripping in the area of Rapolano Terme and found ourselves searching the streets for a place to eat. The first place that we looked for, Il Granaio, was closed. A man on the street directed us to another restaurant, which was packed without a single table to offer to us. We kept walking and looking, and stumbled upon Il Quadrifoglio. They also had no free tables, but as luck would have it, a table for two opened up within 10 minutes. The owner of the restaurant was kind, and the waitress was friendly.

We had two pasta dishes, one with pici and ragu (which was quite good, but the pici seemed too uniform to be handmade; however, we did not ask and so we cannot be certain of this), and the other were little sacks filled with cheese and minced meat I think with a love cheese sauce and chopped radicchio on top--it was really delicious. For a second dish we had a filet which my husband said was truly excellent--thick, tender, cooked to perfection--and I had the beef scallopina, and it was also very good.

We split a quarter of a liter of the house red wine. The total bill was very reasonable.

The place is cozy--12 tables perhaps--and it was packed with locals. We recommend that you call ahead for reservations. We were quite fortunate to get a table.
