We have had a lovely 2 weeks at La Fata Turchina. Maggie & Dave couldn't be more helpful and welcoming, even entertaining our children! The website does not mention the trampoline, archery, badminton and boules that are available when the children tire of the pool, and which are, crucially, in the shade.
The pool is perfect for swimming or messing about, and there are many sunloungers for relaxation. We weren't sure how we would find the outside kitchen, but are converted - it means you don't resent being inside cooking or cleaning while the others relax outside. The rooms were clean and well equipped.
This is a lovely area, with many gorgeous beaches and towns. Maglie is perfectly placed for all the attractions of Salento, but remote enough for you to feel really relaxed.

If you want to relax or explore, if you love being by the pool or on the beach, cooking for yourself or eating beautiful fresh food in local restaurants...this is the place for you. You are looked after every day really making you feel so relaxed on your holiday. The accomodation has a rustic feel, clean, fresh and bright rooms. The surrounding gardens are beautiful with many fruit trees and an inviting swimming pool. The breakfast and local coffee is a great start to the day! We didn't want for anything, booking restaurants for us, recommending beaches and even hosting a BBQ (we were very lucky). We enjoyed our stay immensly. South Italy is a beautiful part of the world worth exploring and this is the place to stay whatever you want from your holiday - it will offer you everything you want and more.

This was a really special villa situated in a great area, close to beaches and cities. We were a group of 10 friends from all over the world, and Maggie our "house mother" was truly amazing, she made our stay that much more special. I hope that we can go back to visit someday!

Rustic, clean and comfortable, fantastic pool surrounded by every type of tree you can imagine. Al fresco dining and owners who make sure all your needs are met. Children are safe and the facilities reflect that they are welcome. There are countless places of beauty close by to visit. you do need to drive but anywhere we visited was no more than half an hour. Beaches were beautiful and there is a good variety. Of course the food is second to none whether you are buying produce to cook or eating out. Can certainly recommend La Fata Turchina.

My fiance and I went for a long weekend in February. The weather was rubbish but we had a lovely time. Our room was very spacious, nice big wardrobe, chest of drawers. The bathroom has a wet room with a brilliant shower, and everything was very clean.

We went there in October half term hoping for balmy autumn weather but sadly got rain and wind most days. (Not the norm I understand). Still there was lots to do what with the local museums in Lecce and the caves near Galipoli. Look out for the local wines - very strong and full bodied. Our hosts were very friendly and sorted the kids out with james Bond DVD's when the weather was too bad to go out for an evening walk - that was their holiday sorted!!
