We are homesick for the Nam Hai after returning home to Shanghai yesterday. We stayed for 9 nights in a 2br Pool villa with out 9 and 12 year old children.
The Villas are huge, as are the gardens surrounding and the private pool.
Tu, our butler was so helpful and sweet, bringing me a gin and tonic late afternoon as I lay by the pool :). We literally didn't have to lift a finger.

Breakfast is amazing, and overall the food is superb.
I agree that the hotel food is extremely expensive, but really, one or two dinners there are fine. The highlight is going 10 minutes in the car to Hoi An and eating at some amazing and well priced local restaurants every other night! Who ever wants to eat in any hotel every night anyway?

For our perspective the layout and design of the villas were superb!
The staff are incredible and this is one very special place!

We loved this amazing resort so much, it was really hard leaving...the most relaxed we've been in years and the kids absolutely loved it!

Thank you for choosing The Nam Hai as your address of choice for your Lunar New Year holiday with the family. It was a pleasure to read that you thoroughly enjoyed the offerings of the resort such as the sumptuous breakfast buffet, the quality of food and most importantly the personalized service provided by Tu, your Butler. Once again, thank you for your visit and we are looking forward to welcoming you back soon with your children. Walter Hess, Resident Manager.

Let me start with the disappointment, "having to leave"! Stayed for 7 nights with a 3 year old and this hotel was amazing. Whilst not looking too child friendly (agree with many of the comments of the villa set ups being an injury waiting to happen) the staff and every other aspect of the hotel was extremely child friendly. The heated family pool was a highlight (particular call out to the pool manager who was so attentive) and the attention to the guests needs was second to none. For ultimate relaxation in the lap of luxury the Nam Hai is your hotel. We will be back!

Fantastic stay at the Nam Hai over Tet. We had a 1 bedroom pool villa which was perfect for a family of 3 (including a 2.3 year old little boy!) The living area is a completely separate structure next to the bedroom. This made it very convenient to watch TV and enjoy ourselves (without having to whisper) after our son went to bed. We also had a BBQ in our villa which was really nice - a ton of delicious food - and convenient so that our son could run around. Our butler, La, was so sweet with our son and helped us to make all our bookings (spa, car, buggies, etc.) The atmosphere is wholly relaxing and you rarely see any guests except in the restaurants - this is very cool. The restaurant staff were very accommodating of our toddler and the food selection at breakfast was awesome with a mix of both Asian and Western specialties. The room service menu had a decent selection of items and the food quality was very high. The chefs were also quite accommodating with food prepared for our son. We loved riding the complimentary cruising bikes around the expansive property. My husband and I also rode them daily to the gym and the spa. The only thing that I would have wished for was a baby seat or wagon of some sort so that we could take our son on bike trips around the property, as well. The spa is one of the most beautiful and tranquil layouts that I have ever encountered. The Vietnamese massages were to die for (my husband and each got two over our stay, one at the beginning and one at the end!) However, though I tried a few other treatments, I would only consider them average, but then I am a self-proclaimed "spa junkie" and hence couldn't resist going back to the spa for any kind of treatment! Also, the beachfront property is on a very peaceful stretch of beach. Simply gorgeous. All in all, a wonderful vacation and we cannot wait to come back.

As a guest who has been traveled around the world, The Nam Hai was the worst experience that I have ever faced.
Although the room facilities and F&B were really nice and impressive, the service by Ms Xuan at the Concierge Desk was a real nightmare. I have never ever be treated so rudely, irresponsibly and impolitely like her.

Whilst we enjoyed reading that your overall experience at The Nam Hai was memorable, we were dismayed to learn that one staff member let you down, whilst seeking out information at the Concierge Desk. Please accept our sincerest apologies for the disappointing encounter.

We have a Manager on Duty present around the clock and would have relished the opportunity to learn about the shortcoming the moment it occurred in order to extend an apology in person and rectify the problem on the spot. In any case, it was certainly not our intention to let you down whilst in residence and we will undertake the necessary corrective steps to prevent similar lapses of service in the future. Once again, thank you very much for your visit and for pointing out this incident. In light of the fact that your holiday overall was enjoyable, we hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back in the foreseeable future. Walter Hess, Resident Manager.

This looks like a great resort. The staff are charming, the setting is peaceful, the beach is huge and the Vietnamese food especially is delicious. The big problem and it is aBIG problem is the ludicrous design of the villas. The bed is raised and one side some distance from the floor. The whole bedroom space has been designed without any real thought for the hapless guest. If you leave without injury it willbe a miracle. This is definitely not a place to take young children.It. Is nearly an outstanding resort hotel but perhaps it is best to visit for lunch or dinner rather than risk spending a night in the very dangerous room. The large bruise on my leg is a daily reminder of my stay there!

Room Tip: Take your own bed!

Thank you choosing The Nam Hai as your address of choice for your lunar new year holiday with your family. It was a pleasure to read that you and your family took a liking to the settings of the resort, the unspoiled beach as well as the quality of our food & beverage offerings.

We concur with you that the layout and design of our villas may not suit everyone's taste for comfort and ergonomics and have empathy with your point of view that the platform bed and the sunken writing desk may not be convenient for every guest. Furthermore, we were sorry to learn that you sustained a bruise on your leg whilst staying in your villa and trust you are feeling better now, having regained your customary level of energy.

Once more, thank you for taking the time to post a review and it would be our pleasure to welcome you back on a future occasion. Walter Hess, Resident Manager.
