My wife and I have just returned from our visit to Tenby in Wales.
On the whole we had a lovely time with an excellent driver and also the bonus of good weather.
The Hotel was run by a family of three and a Barman.
The food was prepared and cooked by the owner himself, who I do not believe has any Chef
Training!
The breakfasts were very basic and very small portions, my wife had porridge as she does not eat fried breakfasts, and this was served in 3 ½”bowls and contained 3 table spoons of porridge.
There were very few breakfast options on offer just cornflakes and bran flakes, even the orange juice was watered down.
The evening meals were not a lot better, with very small portions and all vegetables were out of a tin. The fish pie was all potato and they even served a small Welsh Pasty with mash which was rubbish. The sweets were all bought in giving you 2 very thin slices of Jam Swiss roll and 2 small spoonful’s of custard.
I realise the hotel has to work with a budget, but this was going too far! This hotel was rated as a 3 Star on the internet, my daughter has been in the hotel business for many years and this certainly was not a 3 star. Maybe when registered but has now gone downhill. Is this why? We also noticed that no other guests were staying at the hotel, only our coach party, this tells you something!
After our so called evening dinner we would walk up to the Sun Public house and have something to eat as we were still hungry. We have never needed to do this before.
Maybe this should be a Bed and Breakfast not a hotel!

Considering what we paid with David Urquhart did not expect 'haute cuisine' but the statement on menus that they provide 'home cooked food using local ingredients is misleading. First meal with a 'shop bought' steak pie with tinned carrots and very hard frozen peas. Also they used very cheap poor quality bread and any condiments needed, i.e. tartare sauce or vinegar or mayonnaise, etc. had to requested, not provided as a matter of course. Also no rolls with the soup, and the 'spread' at breakfast was definitely not butter. All in all, catering very disappointing. Also the poole and surrounding area was tatty and had not been prepared for the 'May to September' heating of the poole, considering we left on 3rd May. Very grubby. Would not go back!

We went to this hotel on a David Urquhart tour. The hotel was set in a quite village on the outskirts of Tenby. The staff were friendly helpful and very interactive.
The manager made sure there was entertainment every night from singers to bingo and pub quizzes with a twist.
The bedrooms were very adequate and clean
Meals were well cooked and well presented.
Would certainly go back.

we stayed at this hotel in March this year with david urquat coach holiday. My sister and I accompanied my dad on this trip. My sister and I are quite novice to coach holidays so we dont have much to compare with. We thought the price was very good taking into consideration the journey and the wonderful trips we went on provided by the brilliant driver john. However my dad was put into a single attic room which was tiny and clostrophobic but there was no other room available when we complained. we decided to not let it spoil the holiday, so if your a single person check your not in the attic as there were other single rooms. Our room was a twin and was quite nice however only one person could watch tv in bed the way it was situated we found a way though if you put the full legnth mirror on the bed opposite the tele the other person can watch it. ha ha The hotel was clean and the staff there were lovely. The food was strange things put together like swiss roll and custard ( the waitress said it was an essex thing) tomato and onion was a starter . we ordered it and put it with our main meal. steak pie pot and veg was one of them pies they sell in freezer shop. we ate meals out at lunch so it was ok, in fact we had a good laugh about it! we understood for what we paid the meals had to be budgeted but there are other ways to do it without making so obvious they were budgeting. anyway we still all had a good time worth what we paid

On arrival, no assistance with luggage. No draft-beer at the bar. The room was extremely cold and smelled damp and the central-heating was very sparsely used. The food was of a very poor standard, like a very bad 'school-dinner'! By the 3rd night, we'd had enough and went to eat at a local pub (Sun Inn), excellent. The room seemed to get colder, with each night that passed. By the 3rd night i was dressed for bed in two pair of socks, underpants, vest, T-shirt and shirt. We had obtained an extra blanket, from Kelly (daughter of owner, who was very helpfull), plus two bath towels on the bed and it was still difficult to get warm.So to sum up!! With-out a doubt the worst 'i'm not even going to call it a hotel' because that would be an insult, to all the other 'hotels' we've stayed in, so let's call it a "dog hole" and it ought to be 'black-listed'!!! DON'T GO THERE!!!

My wife and I have just returned from a 4 night coach break with David Urquhart Travel and the hotel we stayed in, was the the ,Greenhills Country Hotel, which is a family run hotel, situated in a very small village called, St.Florence , in Wales.
The hotel offers very clean accomodation , good parking , all of the rooms at this hotel are en suite and some have both a bath with a a shower , television , plenty of clothes space, tea/coffee making facilities and reasonable sized flat screen televisions. I would add that they do have a small swimming pool but this is only open in the summertime for obvious reasons, as it is outdoor pool.
The reception is very well organised and although it was a coach party we were very quickly in our rooms.
On offer for breakfast are all the usual cereals, fruit juice, grapefruit and of course, a full breakfast, which in this part of the country is called a full Welsh, not full English.
For the evening meal there was a choice from the menu which varied from, chicken, quiches, home-made pie, and vegetarian options were, vegetarian chilli, salad, all served with chips or potatoes, but if you asked, I'm sure that slight variations could be catered for. After breakfast the staff ask you if you could make a choice for the evening meal, which sometimes does help, because if you decide to eat at lunch time, at least you wont be having, the same thing for your dinner at night.
Although the food on offer is basic it is very well cooked and presented and we found all the meals to be enjoyable. There is a bar in the hotel with all the usual drinks at pub prices and in the village there are two other public houses.
The village of St Florence, is very small and quiet, but is an ideal place to base yourself, if you wish to go exploring the sites around Wales.
I would like to add that all of the staff are very polite and helpful and if you have any problems, you can either speak to a chap called Jim who is front of house, or anyone else who is available and you will be dealt with, in a polite and speedy manner.
If you wish to travel to other places in the area, you will need a car, as the bus service is very sparse. This hotel is well worth a visit, if you are in this part of Wales, do try we don't think you will be disappointed.
