We visited Easter Island in January 2013 and it is the best trip we have ever held! A big part of the reason is because of Peter and Tiara's amazing hospitality. Now that more than a year and half has passed by the memory of the Moais on Easter Island, Peter and Tiara still much linger in our minds. It is a blessing to visit Easter Island and stay in this place once in life, it would be incredible if we can return! If you are looking for a sense of home away from home, this is the perfect place to be in. Excellent breakfast, convenient location and Peter is a great guide with great knowledge of the island!

We booked here quite a few months in advance to get the dates we wanted. Peter responded quickly with all the information we needed to make the booking. He welcomed us at the airport with a lei and drove us to the bungalow showing us where stores, car rentals. and restaurants were located in Hanga Roa. The bungalow is made to Swiss specifications, so is superior in quality to most accommodations on the island. Ours came with a comfy bed, a kitchenette and a nice bathroom and tub. Peter will hang fresh baked goods on your doorknob at about 8am. He is a fountain of information about the island and can make any car rental or tour arrangements you might need. He is a guide himself although I had already organized a private tour with Green Island Tours (reviewed elsewhere). We felt like family staying here. To come and go conveniently a rental car (or other means of transportation) will give you considerable freedom, but he's willing to help you out as needed. Peter booked for us a local ethnic evening out with dinner and show (reviewed elsewhere). Ideally one would spend 3 or 4 nights here to take full advantage of what the island has to offer and the relaxing beautiful location overlooking the sea. This is my second visit to Easter Island and I would not stay anywhere else.

Room Tip: All rooms nice. He will add two more soon.

Stayed with my family for three nights at Hareswiss in a double and a triple bungalow. Accommodation was simply furnished but spacious, and had all the necessary facilities, including very comfortable beds! Peter went out of his way to ensure our stay was enjoyable, including substantial breakfasts, which included enough food for lunch as well. He was a fount of knowledge and conveyed his love of Rapanui at every point.
The one day tour we took with Peter was excellent, with lots of information, but also time to soak up the history and culture.
Dealing with Peter was a delight - easy to contact and fast to respond to every query, with lots of helpful information before we arrived to help us plan our trip.
Very highly recommended.

If you are privileged, lucky, blessed, or whatever it is, enough to come to Easter Island - then hopefully you'll be privileged, lucky, or blessed enough to stay at Hareswiss!

My wife and I booked 3 nights at Hareswiss, thinking that "IF" we liked it we could stay more (as we were on the island for an entire week, which btw is in starch contrast to most visitors that only stay 3 days, and thankfully we know now that 3 days in not nearly enough).

Anyway, Peter picked us up at the airport as promised via email. He gave us a brief and informative tour of the town, and then brought us to his place. The first emphasis was that if we needed anything, or there was some problem, we must inform him - otherwise he cannot help! in other words, he is extremely invested in your stay.

As for the accommodations, there are 3 "bungalows" staggered and screened, so there is proximity but privacy - brilliant! Inside there is a large bed, a nice bathroom, and a kitchenette. While Peter and his wife (whom we unfortunately didn't meet) provides some eggs, meat, and cheese, in addition some cereal and milk, etc. for breakfast, we really enjoyed having the ability to cook some easy meals, make coffee, or heat up leftovers from the previous nights out, ourselves. And oh, before I forget, the views are spectacular!

Please keep in mind though that a vast majority of the accommodations on this island are not "luxury", however if you have an unlimited budget there are a few "upscale" places that do exist - but then again, if that is your situation you probably aren't reading this. That said, Hareswiss (which I recall is Swiss House as a contraction between the Rapa Nui and Swiss languages) is THE best options for those looking for comfort, convenience, cleanliness, and cost effectiveness (I would usually add safety, but that isn't really an issue here).

Unfortunately for us Hareswiss was booked up, so after three days we needed to find a different place to stay. Fortunately, Peter knew a friend. While the accommodations were not nearly as nice, it turned out to be great. Peter also put us in contact with a tour guide (which is highly recommended as you'll gain so much more than the few dollars it cost), and ensured that the rest of our stay was agreeable, despite not being able to be at his place.

Please, don't waste your money, or sacrifice your enjoyment by booking elsewhere. Contact Peter and reserve his place for your entire trip. And if he is booked, send him an email anyway - he will surely help you with some, if not all, aspects of your trip.

Thank you Peter for doing so much to make sure our time on this (and your) magnificent island was so incredible!!!

We stayed there for one week over Christmas 2013 with our two young children. Our bungalow was very clean, spacious and newly furnished. Every day we enjoyed a very good breakfast on our terrace. The owners, Peter and Tiare, are wonderful hosts. They took care about us during our whole stay. And especially on Christmas Eve as a surprise they decorated our room and prepared a wonderful dinner – a truly unforgettable experience for us and our kids.

Small B&B with excellen service by Peter. Very warm welcome, all the information we needed, help in making bookings (car, restaurant, tours), lots of extra services (laundry, extra water etc.) Great view from the veranda. All very relaxed. Nice big rooms, very clean and with "real" toilet (i.e. no smelly bucket for toilet paper). Very quiet. Nice restaurant in walking distance. This place deserves all the good reviews it gets on Tripadvisor! Highly recommendable.

We really enjoyed our stay at Hareswiss. Peter was very helpful with planning our days, renting a car, and booking tours. The rooms are clean, though they are a good walk from the town, which is no problem if you rent a car. Breakfast was fantastic... lots of options and we ate really well. Internet worked well, especially since we only used it at around 6.30 in the morning. We would stay here again and highly recommend it to others!
