My wife and I were traveling around Chile and Easter Island was our last destination before going back home. Upon arrival, Jerome was waiting for us at the airport with a flower necklace, after which he drove us to his hostel. While enjoying a refreshing drink, he explained about the island and told us how to enjoy our 2.5 days no the island the best with tips and tricks. He gave us a tour of the Hanga Roa, pointing out good places to eat and made sure we got a good rental jeep. (It's highly recommended to explore the island by jeep!). If we come back, we definitely be staying at Jerome's; he added a lot to our amazing experience.

I went to Chez Jerome following the internet reviews which were very good.
When I arrived in the island, I was very well receveid by Jerome the owner of the hostal.
There are plenty of things to tell :
- the cooker is great! (wonderful and traditionnal dishes),
- Jerome is a cool guy and a great guide, He knows perfectly the island! (20 years now so that's a long time to know deeply the island). Moreover, he's married with a rapa nui woman which gives him a deeply knowledge of the Rapa nui culture!
So I really enjoyed my stay there.
That's a little far away from the center but if you are looking for a quiet place and not far away from the incredible site Orango, we could do easily the 15-20 minutes walk to go the center of Hanga Roa!
Great stay!

Room Tip: All the rooms are quiet!

Visiting Isla de Pascua was a rare treat. Having the opportunity to stay at Chez Jerome was a delight. This four room guest house was within walking distance from town. Jerome is a font of knowledge about the island, people and history. We went on a day long exploration of the island and the Moai...truly a not to be forgotten experience with Jerome providing the commentary throughout. Chez Jerome offers evening dinners, complete with pisco sours, appetizers, and three courses including dessert... all prepared by a chef.

We stay with Chez Jerome 4days/3night includes breakfasts, dinners, 2 x half day tours and 1 full day tour. I shall say is the BEST money I ever spent on my entire South America trip.

The guesthouse is out of the village but in walking distance (15 mins walk to village). The guesthouse is facing sea and very near to ocean (100 metres away). There is children play ground on the doorstep. Rooms are simple decor, spacious, practical and very clean. Bathroom is practical and clean. Love the shower, powerful jet shower and plenty hot water at any time of the day. Each room has its own terrace, equipped with a few plastic chairs. It is nice to chill out at the evening before and after dinner with couple cold beers in hand. The room was cleaned and tidy everyday; and fresh towels on each day of your stay.

Breakfast is “homebaked” breads, cheeses, hams, jam, juice, tea and coffee. If you have children and under drinking age (18-), they will get bonus sugary breakfast such as cereal and chocolate Nesquik on top usual adult breakfast.

Dinner time is serve at 7pm and it start with Pisco sour (spirit/cocktail thingy) and fruit juice for kids. Before dinner being served; there are “homebaked” breads and crisps on the table while you waiting for your dinner. Which is ideal after half day tour OR full day tour walking around mountains and moi(s) counting exercise we are literally in starving mode. Dinner is delicious and comfort food and follows up by tasty desert. A gold STAR to Jerome’s Chef. Then there is options of coffee and tea for after (the coffee is brew from espresso machine! If you are coffee-holic, you know how heavenly it feels with good coffee after meal). We stayed for 3 nights, every night we get differences menu with dinners and deserts. Housekeeper is very friendly; she taught us a few Rapa Nui’s word on dinner table. Maururu!

The tour is very educational and informative was conducted in English or French (Jerome is an official UNESCO guide). Jerome has made the tours casual and interesting, which is includes a few local legends and funny jokes. After the tours I have know more about Rapa Nui and the moi(s) than what I read from guide book. On full day tour; we get a packed lunch (prepared by Jerome’s chef), a drink (agua sin gas) and fruit (naranja). Lunch was delicious and hit the spot. After lunch we get an hour free time (for me is siesta time on the sunny beach!).

Been heard Easter Island is an expensive island to stay, eat and other activities. We did have a lunch out one afternoon during our stay at roadside stall. We have 3 tuna fillet sandwiches, 2 regular cokes and 1 Guyana juice. It come to total CLP17,000 or £23!

Wi/Fi is big problem generally in Easter Island. I never have been once succeeding to connect Wi/Fi in Jerome guesthouse. When I went to Internet Café at the village, internet connect is down as well. So be prepare boys and girls, you might out of touch for a few day while in Easter Island.

Jerome is very helpful, friendly, and has plenty of humour. He will go through all the troubles to make his guests feel welcome and comfortable. During our stays, one guest left her hand-baggage at Santiago Airport. He been to airport couple times to try retrieve her baggage at the very next day; finally he had succeed to retrieved her baggage at late evening around 9pm while all his guests enjoy the dinner, wines and settle for the evening. We love every minute in our stay, and would DEFINITELY recommend!

We stayed at Chez Jerome for 3 nights in August. We took the 3 day package which included breakfasts, all dinners, and 2x 1/2 day tours and a full day tour. We're so glad we did! We saw all that the island has to offer and met some fabulous people along the way. Jerome has lived on the island for over 18 years and has taken a vested interest in the islands heritage and its people. Room was basic, but comfortable and roomy and very clean. Dinners were delicious home cooked meals and the pisco sours before dinner were fabulous! Had a brilliant time - thanks again Jerome :-)

Room Tip: Rooms cleaned daily and quite spacious

We stayed at Chez Jerome for a week in June. The dinners by Ricardo were remarkable and gave us a chance to sit down and chat with the other guests. Although we do not speak French (which the rest of the guests did), everyone, including Jerome, made us feel very welcome. Jerome conducted the tours in both French and English. Chez Jerome is a 45 minute hike to the Rano Kau crater which is a spectacular sight. Chez Jerome is also within walking distance of the village, although there are many taxis available. Jerome was also helpful organizing our horseback ride and returning our rental car when we weren’t able to return it ourselves. We had a nice combination of both organized activities and free days and Jerome made very good recommendations for things to do and places to eat on our free days.

Pisco Sours were also incredible!

The moment we met our host Jerome we felt accepted / welcomed. He has only 4 rooms and treats all the guests like family.

The guesthouse is out of the village, but in walking distance (taxi is cheap too). Rooms are simple and very clean. Bathroom is excellent (in Easter Island standards).

Jerome does excellent island tour, you'll see all the important moai statues and have plenty of good photo opportunities. He also knows other interesting places and good restaurants in the island. You can eat at the guesthouse, food is very tasty (+good value).

Definitely yes.
