“CRETE EXPRESS”
Reviewed 2 July 2014

Weather was very hot walked a couple of hills so felt it would be nice to take a look at Crete on the Crete express as we named it, train passed through rural Crete beautiful villages, churches, and cannons the fragrance from the flowers, lemon, and orange trees was delightful, stopped on route at local museum and Cretan Resistance cafe very educational it was a privilege to have drank coffee in the meeting rooms of the Cretan Resistance VERY BRAVE MEN AND WOMEN and VILLAGERS.

SUDA BAY.
Visited Suda Bay caught the bus from Chania and walked to the British war cemetery it was well worth the walk ( 3 Miles) so peaceful beautifully kept cemetery well worth a visit if you don't walk you can always hire a taxi from Suda there is a cafe at the cemetery very reasonable prices.

MALEME
Visited the German War Museum nice little climb to the cemetery. This overlooks the airfield that is still in use to this day, worth a visit.

“choo choo train”
Reviewed 1 July 2014

we had pretty miserable weather so took yhe train ride up to a small village in the white mountains up a gorge it is a lovely journey for 17 euros its a 3 hour round trip because the trip was busy our train was a bit late so we did not have so long in the village but we managed to tour the war museum look round the small church and have a beer and sandwich in a taverna on the way back the train stops for you to buy local produce from the farmers boy well worth parting with your money

“Great trip, excellent value”
Reviewed 30 June 2014

We were staying in Agii Apostoli and decided to give this a go. We opted for the Southern Comfort trip which took us along the coast through Agia Marina and Platanias to Maleme to visit the German War Cemetery. Then on through beautiful countryside, with a couple of photo stops and a stop to buy olive oil from the back of a car under a bridge (!), to a beautiful village in the hills for a half hour lunch stop. A slightly different way back and four hours later we were back in Agii Apostoli. There is commentary too. Excellent day out and very good value for money - 17 euros. We'll try a different trip next time. Warning - the seats aren't made for comfort!!

“Great way to get around and find the real Cre te.”
Reviewed 23 June 2014

We had 2 journies on the little fun train, which is fun and a great way to get to see places. The first trip was through the Teratis Gorge visiting the resistance museum. Well woth visiting there to discover the trials villagers experienced during the German occupation. A wonderful journey through the countryside. The 2nd visit was going West just past where the buses stop and past the old aerodrome where German paratroopers landed. This one is an evening visit but just as warm as during the day. Do book with Mike, just after the footbridge, the man in the orange suit as he is really helpful. Great photo opportunities and little walking to be done.

“Lovely way to see hidden areas”
Reviewed 23 June 2014

We went on the Hidden Treasures and Pleasures of Crete trips and loved them. The olive oil visit (Terracreta) was particularly interesting, as was the beautiful monastery with the lovely calm nuns. Both trips lasted a little longer than in the guide book, but who's worrying when you are having an enjoyable time? You see some off the beaten track places which you wouldn't otherwise have maybe thought about so well worth the money.
