the first impression was the huge lobby with the nice marble floor - impressive.
I was lucky to have a nice room with a marvelous sea view, but I could have a look in the garden view rooms and they are also nice and clean. the hotel has a lot of green gardens and beautiful flowers. what me impressed were the huge palm trees surrounding the pool area. really nice !!!

Although the hotel is 850m (as they mentioned in their broschure) away from the sea, it was easy to get down to the beach with their little free shuttle bus during the day. And some days we have rented a small scooter to explore western Crete and especially Chania with its beautiful small roads and the famious Venetian harbour.

The hotel staff was friendly and helpful and gave us good tips for our small trips.
Especially the man in the pool bar needs to be mentioned. He always had an honest smile on his face and helped us to close our day with a nice drink at the pool.

We had a marvelious time, away from the touristic area, in a nice surrounding.

I had 2 lovely weeks here in June 2012. Really nice hotel, clean, good food, very nice and hardworking family and staff running the hotel. I stayed there just before high season started, so it was very nice and quiet all over . Had the pool almost to my self many times. The fact that Eleftheria is located a bit from downtown and the beach, makes this place a lot more quite and relaxing than the hotels on the beach. I loved listening to the birds singing by the pool!! The nearest supermarket was only a 10 min walk down the road. There was also a shuttlebus awailable. They also have free wifi within the lounge/reception. I will definitly recommend this hotel!!

We have been there in June 2012 and we just loved the place, the food and the staff. They are all very friendly and helpful and the hotel is so clean and with lovely gardens and view. They have a mini bus that is going every one hour down to the beach for free and also brings you back. We didn't use it because we had rent a car from Speed cars (good prices and they accept cash). The rooms were very big and with their own verandas with table and chairs and the cleaning service was excellent. I strongly recommend this hotel to everybody and I am planning to visit it very soon:) If it had 10 stars I would give them 10.

I was at Eleftheria in Agia Marina (Crete) with family members, all quite used to travel in Europe and especially Greece during the summer.
Regarding the hotel, the fist thing I can say is that it is far from the beach and from the town. The walk back to the hotel is by a small lonely road, steep, dark (in the evening) and with stray dogs strolling around, which is not safe at all if you have little children. The hotel is made of three different blocks, the one near the reception and pool is "reserved" (by the woman/manager at the reception) for Greeks or chosen guests, and you will be sent to the farthest buildings especially if you come with a tour op.
As a whole the hotel is not bad, nothing more than standard, in fact we were a bit disappointed after reading some good reviews.
Breakfast very simple and restaurant room unconfortable when hot, becasue they do not turn on air-con in the morning.
But the worse part is the woman (who apparently is the owner/manager) and part of the staff becasue they are impolite and rude with guests (but not with Greek guests..). In one occasion we saw her shouting at guests (of course NOT Greeks) in the middle of the hallway for futile reasons, in front of everyone else!
What I think is that an hotel could even be the best five star around, but when the staff and management is rude, then I'd prefer camping! So if you don't want to have your holiday ruined by ungrateful staff, do not go there!

Nice hotel with a beautiful sea view (if you book a room with a sea view),

clean rooms (cleaning every day, changing towels twice a week),

friendly receptionist (cleaning ladies don´t speak English),

be aware when you book a studio with kitchenette - the kitchenette is not in the separate room it´s in a wardrobe!!! Yep, in a wardrobe - there is a sink, a cooker, some glasses and cutlery. I can´t imagine cooking in a wardrobe, it´s really strange!!!

the room was big enough with a big balcony but the bed was worn down so the sleeping was quite painful,

the bathroom was small and hot water was running only in the evenings and the main problem was that the water was running with very little flow...

someone wrote here about the Dexameni Taverna near Eleftheria Hotel, we wanted to go there but it was closed (I don´t know if they didn´t open yet - it was the beginning of June - or if they went bankrupted)

otherwise our stay was perfect, location of this hotel is not so noisy as the hotels near the main road and beach.
