“Nice hotel and I would stay again”
Reviewed 18 August 2012

Well located. Aghia Marina is a nice area, at a convenient distance from Chania town and with a very long beach. Lots of beach clubs, restaurants and cafes at walking distance.
Our room was large and clean. Staff were attentive: A number of issues we discovered when we entered where fixed fast.
Air-condition was weak and we had to keep it on for hours until room was cool enough.
Most of the other guests in the hotel seemed to be Scandinavian families that had booked through a tour operator. In fact Aghia Marina was full of Scandinavian families.
Three very nice pools, although we preferred the beaches.
We were asked to pay for WIFI some 3 euros per hour. We did not.

Room Tip: Upper floor rooms seemed better.

The title says it all. This is a decent family hotel with clean, funtional apartments suitable for a couple or a small family. The pool area is ok, the pools are cleaned every day, or you can walk for five minutes down to the beach.

I would not hesitate to reccommend Kambos VIllage to someone who is in the market for the classical standardised holiday resort experience, were it not for the fact that the kitchen couldn't tell the head from the tail on a chicken if you stuck a gun to their heads. This is true of the breakfast which is supremely unexciting and prepared with little care, but more so for the lunch and dinner plates which were downright starved for love and suffering from a lack of competence. Mind you, there are plenty of other places to eat in the area, some of them quite ok (avoid anything 'mixed' (mixed grill, mixed seafood), look for the fresh fish)

We went as a family of four - with two almost grown up kids.
We had rented a three room appartment. The two bedrooms were spacious and the beds comfortable. Cleaning was thorough.
The pool area with three pools: one small baby-pool, one pool for playing, and one for swimming were all very clean and the staff were careful cleaning it chemicaly overnight and by hand every morning.
The staff were helpfull in every situation.
The rooms have free aircondition which is an absolute MUST on Crete during July... Open windows during evening and night will let you meet the local moscitos... which is not recommendable...
Only - very little - minus would be choice of television-channels. Two or three all in all. But we didn't go to Crete to watch tv, so who cares?!?!
Kambos Village is situated very close to Agia Marina main street, but we didn't find trafic anoying at all. Access to the beach is also close and at a very nice part of the beach.

All of my family were satisfied by everything that the hotel was offering. The pools were perfect and for the grown ups and for the children. The buffet of the restaurant was always compiled from good tastfull foods and the variety of the plates was more than enough. the maiding service was excellent, so was the front desk staff.

Last summer in August we enjoyed our stay in Kambos. No parking but that was no a problem. The 3 pools of the hotel made exercise ourselves every day under the hot sun. The pool bar and the staff made us stay in the hotel all day. Shops and tavernas are at a very close distance. Not to forget to mention about the big and clean rooms of the hotel. We will surely come back. Thank you staff.

We stayed in Kambos Village 2008 June and enjoyed their pool area. Rooms had everything we need and it was a walking distance to Platanias and beach.
Can warmly recommed the hotel.

Really pleasant stay for my family. Children enjoyed all 3(!) pools! Really spacious apartments, nice food (we were half boarders) and very-very friendly staff! Although it is rated as a 4* hotel, the 5* hotels should get some lessons from this hotel's service! The only negative actually was that I would prefer the snack bar to be open until late at night- at the time that my children were asleep and I could spent some time with my wife- relaxing by the pool and having a couple of cocktails more!! ps. great flaura!!
