Description: The Bath Arms at Crockerton on the Longleat Estate in Wiltshire is under the care of chef Dean Carr, formerly of The Ivy and Bishopstrowe House. Although The Bath Arms is a truly excellent gastropub, it’s clear that Carr respects country pub traditions. You can expect a warm welcome, open fires, relaxed atmosphere, beer garden, and familiar dishes. But you can also enjoy modern comforts, professional service, fine beers and innovative meals, too. Signatures include starter of fishcake with Cornish crab and broad bean and main course of sticky beef with braised red cabbage. Beer festivals, Caribbean BBQs and other events liven this picturesque corner.

“Not as good as it used to be.”
Reviewed 2 April 2014

We visited here a year ago and were very impressed, but this time the life had gone out of it somehow. There was little atmosphere and while trainee waiter was doing his best others seemed disinterested. As for the food I was disappointed that a pub of this quality only serves it's burgers well done other places still give you the choice whatever H&S say The cottage pie was average. Please get this place back to how it was

“really good”
Reviewed 12 February 2014

Recommended by a good friend and was not left disappointed. The beef was great and the veg were well cooked. The eton mess dessert was not quite up to par when compared to the mains,
nice nevertheless. The whole bill for two came to over £70 but that did include wine. Enjoy

“A real treat by the Log Burner”
Reviewed 28 January 2014

We took advantage of a 'Travel Zoo' deal for lunch as a half way meeting point with two good friends of ours.

The choice was from their a la Carte menu which gave us a number of options to choose from and we were all extremely pleased with the quality and quantity. My steak was cooked superbly (always the sign of a good kitchen) and the vegetables served separately were very tasty and hot.

The deal came with a glass of wine each but they happily allowed us to convert to coffees / capuccinos. All in all the service was exceptional, bringing a jug of iced water and topping up when they saw it was needed and not disturbing the flow of our conversation as they attended to our needs.

The log burner provides a good focal point and was a most welcome relief to the rain outside, such that we stayed longer than anticipated and abandoned our plans for a soggy walk. We'll be back to take advantage of the local walking when the weather improves plus another visit to the Bath Arms! Thank you

“A Proper Pub”
Reviewed 19 January 2014 via mobile

Came here with the family for my Mother's birthday lunch and we couldn't have picked a better place. The food was gorgeous and the portions were generous, the whole atmosphere was warm and welcoming and the staff were very attentive. Get in early on weekends as it will get very busy! Will definitely come here again.
