“Lovely setting”
Reviewed 25 July 2013 via mobile

We booked a table for four in the restaurant and managed to bag a table outside as the weather was so lovely. Attentive friendly service and delicious food. We managed all three courses as the menu was so inviting - something we don't normally do!
Requesting gluten free was no problem what so ever which was a refreshing change and probably the best gluten free bread I have tasted to date.
Well worth a visit.

We stayed at the mill for five nights on our summer holiday. The room (No. 4) was small, but we had the sole use of a big roof terrace and it had a super new bathroom.
The food they serve in the restaurant is delicious and we ate there several times. Everybody was really friendly, tried to make conversation with us and was very helpful and attentive.
The garden at the mill with all its sculptures is fantastic - we liked the crocodile best and would have loved to take it home for our garden.

The Mill is only ten minutes away from where I live, but it is such a beautiful oasis offering the best location south of the New Forest. We love to sit outside to dine in the summer, surrounded by beautiful gardens next to the river. The service and food are always excellent, and special dietary needs never a problem. A few weeks ago my daughter got married there and everything was perfect. The event was run very smoothly and professionally and coped with a grey morning, which meant the service had to be held inside and after a beautiful lunch the sun came out and we could enjoy the surrounding gardens which make a perfect photo backdrop.

Our companions had visited before, and they said we should arrive early for our evening meal to allow time to see the gardens. these are splendid in their own right with a small river running through them and two or three ponds. The amazing part was their art scattered throughout the grounds with about 30 pieces ranging from a crocodile, eight or ten feet long to beautiful work hung between trees made from recycled bottles, and many more delights.
The food was first class and the service was excellent

Room Tip: Only ate in the restaurant

Celebrated our 50th Wedding Anniversary, just the two of us, the lunch was beautifully presented, just enough, smoked salmon with all the trimmings, followed by Creme Brulee and the Chocolate Brownie tart which were excellent,
The Art Work in the garden (the reason we chose this Hotel) was amazing, even more so when lit up at night.
Lovely bedroom, very high standard, could not fault this Hotel, will certainly return, have recommended it to all our family and friends.

Room Tip: We had room 1 which had a small balcony, with a delightful view over the river, it was was most comf...

Spent 5 nights at this great small hotel. The food is wonderful, the rooms comfortable, beautiful gardens and really friendly staff. We saw a wedding taking place whilst we were there and thought that it was an ideal wedding venue. The gardens have numerous contemporary art exhibits and make the hotel an art gallery in its own right. Covered and heated riverside eating area make it a popular venue for local diners.

Room Tip: All rooms are nice but some are bigger than others
