“Beautiful friendly Hotel”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 8 January 2013

We have not stay at this location but were staying nearby in a Chalet and decided to have a drink on our way back, so glad we did. Such a lovely location with friendly attentive staff and very dog friendly as our Sproodle Hamish will testify. We initially went into the reception/bar area and found seats in the window by the lovely open fire, Hamish soon settled down and there was no objections from anyone to a dog lying by the fire. We had such a lovely time we decided to return on foot later for an evening meal. No problem with reserving a table in the bar area so that Hamish could come back with us. On returning to the Hotel our table was not ready but shown into the lounge area and drinks were fetched for us. The staff could not have been more attentive in both the afternoon and the evening. We had a beautiful meal and had only wished that we had known about the hotel when we booked our accommodation. We will definitely be thinking about coming back and staying with you when we are next up to visit family in the area. Thank you all again for a lovely experience.

Really nice place to get away from it all. Lovely food served on NYE with 5 course meal and staff are very professional and approachable. Lovely log fires and nice bar area. Only thing I would reccomend is having some tables of two rather than seated with at tables of with couples. Lovely as they were it was our first weekend away and would have been nice to dine on our own. Our room was in the stable block and this was a very nice room. I'm giving it an excellent as would certainly return.

Just fabulous food, exceptional service, very friendly staff, great value. Will certainly come bk. 10/10. Couldn't fault. Location may be out of a lot of people's way, but it's worth going there. Fabulous ambience in hotel. Beautifully decorated. Very traditional.

I stayed here with my family for one Friday night taking three rooms. The room in the main hotel building (room 2) is very spacious and comfortable. The two rooms in the stable block (rooms 7 and 8) were also excellent; Newer but equally comfortable and very "eld person" friendly.
The highlights of the stay were the dinner and breakfast! The food was excellent - really high standard and very reasonable. Breakfast was hearty as ever!
Bar prices are typical pub prices for the area and not restaurant or hotel prices.
Will 100% stay there again!

Room Tip: All three rooms we used were perfect! see our review (Rooms 2, 7 and 8)

Stayed here with girlfriend and 2 dogs!!! what more can i say it was just fantastic, food, price, hotel we couldn't have asked for more. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a break in beautiful surrondings and great company.
Breakfast was to die for so much choice both healthy and cooked, nothing was to much trouble for the staff. Will deffinatley be booking a couple of trips there in 2013 for me and the girlfriend and a couple of days fishing.

Thank you all

We stayed here for the night before visiting Phoenix Falconry. Booked 2 rooms online via tripadvisor but we made a mistake with the date and the hotel was very accommodating and amended the booking with no charge. After checking in and dropping off our bags, we headed to the restaurant for dinner. We had a 3 course meal and every dish was generously portioned, cooked perfectly and tasted great. The rooms were comfortable and warm during a very cold night.

Room Tip: Room 9 backs onto a storeroom that must have a freezer or something that runs intermittently and can...

My partner and I stayed at the Tormaukin Hotel as part of a birthday weekend treat. The staff were very welcoming and friendly--nothing was too much trouble--they even delivered my breakfast in bed as I'd twisted my knee the evening before we arrived. We had a lovely dinner and enjoyed soaking up the atmosphere by the roaring fire. The waiter's wine recommendation was on the mark and complimented my seabass. Comfortable beds and lots of thoughtful touches in the room. My only complaint would be that the bathroom was a bit on the bijou side, but it was fine for an overnight stay. Our room was at the front of the hotel, but road noise wasn't a problem as it's on a quiet road. All in all, a charming hotel in a peaceful location. We will return!

Room Tip: We stayed in room 6---a very nice room in the main hotel.
