The hotel is mainly geared to catering for corporate events such as providing facilities for training courses etc, or as a venue for golfing groups. Couples or foursomes seem to be an anachronism here. The executive room we had (288) was utilitarian in design but was of a good size, comfortable, and perfectly adequate – but the TV had few options and there was no air conditioning. Overall, the room with its desk and Wi-fi facility appeared to be designed for a course delegate. The room was in a block that was physically separated from the reception/dining/relaxing area – a real bind when the weather was inclement. In the Waterfront Brasserie, the starters and main course food were excellent, but the dessert choice was limited and unimaginative. The menu did not alter throughout our three-night stay, but there was a ‘specials’ board each evening. Breakfast was served in a separate restaurant, and was a disaster. This room was unwelcoming, the tables being laid for large groups and little provision for couples etc. There was no greeter, no explanation of the system, and all food and drink was on a self-service basis – even the tea and coffee. The food was of average buffet quality. There was no supervision of the breakfast staff, who were indifferent to the point of being lethargic. The hotel’s checking-out policy of 10am was like the breakfast system, designed for the convenience of the staff, not the guests. The pleasant lakeside setting of the restaurants was spoiled by huge electricity pylons. If your employer is paying for you to stay here, you probably won’t care, but if you’re paying for yourself you are likely to be disappointed.

Excellent hotel rooms at the Waterfront, very nice and modern, Staff helpful and what you would expect. Breakfast was buffet style and had a good selection of food, hot and cold. Very nice bar with good food there for lunch.

We stoped in the Robinson Conference centre and it is a fantastic venue. The conference rooms them selfs are amazing and full of the things you need for a meeting. The rooms have recentley been refurbished and they are a really high standard. The room had a double bed and moden decor and ensuite. The food was fantastic we had a BBQ and there was so much food we couldnt eat it all. Overall the facilities are all fantastic and a really high standard.

We have just returned after spending a weekend here to attend a family wedding and although I could ramble on about everything that is wrong with this hotel I will try and keep it as concise as possible.

We arrived at about 3 o clock on the Friday afternoon and were told we could not check in until 5 o clock when we queried this as being rather late were sharply informed that this was policy not a good beginning. We went away returning later to check in to find what we were informed was our 'large' double room which although very clean was not large at all. There was no bath but a decent shower but only one towel, back to reception to get more.

We asked where could we get something to eat and drink and were informed not in this building we would have to go over to the golf club, by this time it was pouring with rain so it was back in the car to get to the golf club.

Other members of the family arrived with young children to be shown to their 'family' rooms which turned out to be no bigger than ours with mattresses on the floor rather than single beds and very little bed linen if they do not want families to stay surely it would be fairer to say so. When my son asked at reception how he was supposed to shower a 9 month old baby as he had no bath he was eventually allowed the use of a disabled rooms bathroom.

The spa with its unheated pool did not supply towels although we were told in our building that it did, the list goes on and on.

The wedding I have to say was very good but unless you are attending a course or a Society Day for golf I could not and would not suggest for one moment that you stay here. .

I stayed at Wyboston Lakes whilst attending a Risk Management Course at the same location. The complex has comprehensive conferencing facilities and obviously is used extensively by many businesses, judging by the throughput of visitors. The accommodation is either Standard or Executive (slightly larger rooms) - my Standard room was comfortable, adequate without being outstanding in any way. I don't believe the rooms have A/C, which would certainly be an issue in summer, but they were warm enough for November, even when the temperature dipped to below freezing.

The Waterfront Centre has a large bar, with a fairly good menu at a reasonable price and a good selection of beers and wine. The main restaurant caters for the delegates and serves up suprisingly good buffet food - much better than I expected. The restaurant is open from 7:30 - 9:00, but the bar serves food outside that time. There is no Room Service.

There is a well equipped Gym, small swimming pool and excellent golf facilities, if that's what you are looking for. The grounds are attractively maintained and I would imagine would be very pleasant to be in, come summer.

All-in-all, not too bad place to be, but you'll need transport to get around.

This is a great complex of golf course set in lakes and a beautiful setting.
The grounds are well kept and the hotel is very clean and immaculately presented.
Meals are excellent and good value, and the bar is well stocked.
Other guests commented highly on the leisure club, but i did not use these facilities.
Would definitely stay here again.
