I stayed 4 nights in the Fortview House B&B. I was greeted very friendly at all times. The rooms are lovingly furnished and very clean. The food (breakfast, dinner) is excellent. I had no problem with the internet connection. Altogether, this accommodation is absolutely recommendable!

Just returned from 2 night stay in Catherine & Sean Fortview House B&B. Our stay was just great. The room was spotless and we were greeted so friendly at all times. The house is quite close to the Olde Post Inn. Our room had excellent, TV reception internet and mobile service first class. Shower was excellent, breakfast was amazing with lots of choices on the menu. It truly is a lovely setting and great value for money. There is a separate lounge for guests with tea & coffee, homemade buns and fruit cake included. Dinner available if ordered in advance and it is well worth trying but don’t count the calories. Parking is at the house and rooms are quiet at night. Overall we loved our stay and our hosts were true professionals. It’s so good to get old fashioned Irish hospitality and we will definitely return again for the 2rd time. Marine & Serge

We chose this B&B for its location (just a couple of hours from Dublin airport) and good reviews, and we were not disappointed. We were made to feel very welcome, and given 2 rooms tucked away upstairs which were very comfortable, but unfortunately did not give good views of the surrounding countryside. Breakfast was first class - it's a good job we were only staying one night else I might not have been able to fit into the clothes I had packed!

Room Tip: The twin my daughters had was not strictly en suite, but the bathroom was just outside the door, and I don't think it is used by any other rooms.

After 2 weeks of travelling and visiting lots of B&Bs we are sorry to say that this was certainly not one of the bests. Especially not with the price charged for the room. Lots of things were OK, but not really good. We were a little spoiled in the others so now that made us feel a little disappointed now. The B&B almost feels like a budget hotel. Our room was spacious, but filled with bed... The window in the room was quite small. The bathroom was clean, but small, and the water was getting colder than comfortable quite fast. For the breakfast we were situated faced against a wall...
In the brochure the B&B is mentioned as 'with internet', but in the rooms and the living room there was hardly reception.
We did see that the hostess really did her best to help us making our plans, but the stay did not completely satisfy us...

Everything about our stay at the Fortview was good. Catherine spent a good share of time finding our relative connections in Cavane and Monaghan and setting up appointments for us to meet these people. I had wished it might be possible to find relatives, but didn't dream she would be able to manage it. Catherine has a real passion for family and roots. She and Sean were so welcoming and gracious to us and if I ever have the opportunity to visit Ireland again, I will most definitely be looking for accommodations at the Fortview! It felt more like being with family than being in a hotel.
