Rather that me write a long review about how good this place is, just go and check it out yourself. Superb!

We stayed in room Alba which was tastefully decorated and had a lovely outside area. The pool is a lovely area to relax, the food was amazing (i recommend dining on Wednesday or Saturday) and the staff were all excellent.

The beach club is really cool.

Room Tip: We stayed in room Alba. Has a large outside area

We are a well-travelled couple, and this is the best place we have ever stayed.

We loved everything about it! We stayed in the garden room, which although not massive is large enough and has a good sized bathroom. Both of which are beautifully decorated. The linen sheets are crisp and fresh, the under floor cooling system perfect for sleeping and the fresh red roses in the room beautiful.

We ate a delicious breakfast each morning in our own garden, which was laid out with fresh linen and china. We had our own hammock in our garden, which my husband made full use of. We were honeymooning and this room allowed us to have privacy as well as the option to mingle with other guests when we wanted.

Ricardo the owner is very friendly and helpful – he arranged for us to go to several excellent restaurants, directed us to things to see and do, he arranged an in-room massage, he even arranged for our laundry to be done. No task is too much for him, you get good old fashioned service here.

The pool area is beautiful and the whole house is decorated gorgeously. Richard’s sense of style is second to none. The photographs on the website do not show the extent of style and sophistication this places oozes. I’d like to pack it all up and take it home.

Long story short we LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVED! It so much that we are hoping to return with a bunch of friends and hire the whole place. I cannot recommend this place enough.

Eeccellente! Book now and enjoy!

Our two night stay at Locanda al colle was surely not enough time to experience the area but we were able to enjoy the house and Ricardo's infectious laugh enough to feel right at home. As a guesthouse owner myself, I truly know what an effort it is to maintain high standards of not only the house and the lovely surroundings of the property, but also of yourself for your guests. Ricardo does this effortlessly. His manager and chef are both attentive and always there if you need them. Our cooking class with Jean Luke was the highlight and have already tried the recipes here in South Africa. Without a doubt, I would recommend this fine guest house to anyone traveling past Camaiore, which is near Lucca. The walk from the guesthouse to the restaurant is a must. Ristorante la Dogana was superb! Bring a torch for the way back which Ricardo is happy to loan you. Keep in mind, GPS is helpful, as it is off the main road and a bit hidden, however, well worth the find!!!!

What to add to the rave reviews others have written? We were four couples completely besotted with the Locanda, Ricardo, Gabriella, Gianluca the chef, the aroma of honeysuckle and jazmine, the pool, the views, the different treats each day at breakfast... You get the idea. This is a stunning place, immaculately clean, well-run, but operated with warmth and perfect hospitality. The dinner at the Locanda is a must - you'll never forget it. We took the cooking class, which was great fun as well as a learning experience. And we also had Ricardo set up the tour of the marble caves in nearby Carrara as well as the sculptor's workshop. All reasonably priced and well worth the experience. Nearby Pietrasanta is a delightful small city with art and artists about and a cosmopolitan vibe. Don't go to the Locanda with too ambitious an itinerary because you really will want to hang out all day in this glorious location.

Room Tip: The suite has a large outdoor sitting area good if you are with a group. The rooms on the third flo...

We travel a lot, but rarely do we have such warm, attentive and generous hosts combined with such a beautiful and pleasant venue.
Exceptional Chef.
Looking forward for our next trip to your gracious Locanda.

We have travelled to Italy several times, but have never had a better experience. From the first moment we step on the property we felt at home Ricardo, our host, was everything one would want in a manager, concierge, chef, waiter etc. It was as if we were guests in his home. the facility was simple yet elegant. the location was in the hills close to beach, the mountains, and neighboring towns that had excellent restaurants, shops and history. It's location is only 40 minutes from Lucca and Pisa. Perfect for a day trip. The beach club that we had use of thru the hotel was on one of the most spectacular beaches we have ever been on. The food at the beach club was perfect for a light lunch lounging in our cabana. Normally when we are in Italy we go, go go and see everything there is to see. Because of the beach, we relaxed and enjoyed every day. It is a must do if in Italy.

Room Tip: we stayed in the junior suite with its own balcony and a fire pit which we used on two occasions.

We stayed here for a few nights in the beginning of September and loved the design, food, surroundings and little touches! Ricardo and Arianna have great suggestions for restaurants in the area as well as little hikes and outings. The beach club is very relaxing- and the sea beautiful and calm. You will regret not staying longer!
